Been feeling bummed that the last few seasons haven't been that exciting for me, but holy hell does the Spider-Man season look amazing. Scarlet Spider's ability is also probably one of the funniest ways to adapt the Clone Saga into a card game.

In my opinion, i think "Activate" means clicking on the card to activate its effect, the effect itself is also is going to be part of the order you play/move cards

Red Guardian is going to be so clutch on the Activate cards

If Symbiot Spider-man would work only on activate abilities then they would have said so in the text itself (e.g "You can activate it's Activate effect again"). The only reason why they would add text "like it just revealed" is because On Reveal effects would also trigger. In the game itself card gets revealed and then it's On Reveal effect gets triggered and because of that the card "has just been revealed" before it's On Reveal effect triggers.

• Scarlet Spider is great with Namora • He discounts mocking bird • He’s great in Iron lad decks • You can put hulk buster ontop of him • With Shuri, he’ll also be really good in Skaar decks. I think he’s gonna be the best activate card in the game 😮‍💨

Something that makes me very happy as a Young Avengers reader: the card effects pair really well with the relationships the characters have in the comics! Obviously you mentioned Wiccan and Speed being brothers and having a possible synergy, but Wiccan and Hulkling are married in the comics and also have great synergy potential for being able to get Emperor Hulkling out earlier. Kate Bishop and Marvel Boy have also dated on and off in the comics and have synergy as you mentioned; by the by, Marvel Boy's most recent fling in the comics was Hercules (in a Guardians of the Galaxy series), and if anyone can come up with a good deck including them both you will gain my immense respect. I've always wanted to make flavor-heavy decks, but in the earlier days of snap that was harder to do with fewer characters. Now, I could legit make a Young Avengers-themed deck and it wouldn't just be for the lore! I even have a possible lineup, which I'll list below: 1-Cost: Quicksilver, America Chavez, Squirrel Girl 2-Cost: Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye - Kate Bishop 3-Cost: Speed, Patriot, Brood, Marvel Boy 4-Cost: Wiccan, Iron Lad 5-Cost: None 6-Cost: Emperor Hulkling Brood and Squirrel Girl don't really have a lore connection to the Young Avengers but I just needed a proper archetype playline. I'll admit that this deck has a lot of holes but I'm also really high right now so I'm having trouble with thinking words good. You'd probably be better off making a Kate Bishop + Patriot + Marvel Boy (+ Iron Lad) Surfer and/or Zoo deck and a Speed + Wiccan + Emperor Hulkling (+ Iron Lad) Ramp deck. Other cards you could include for lore reasons if someone else wants to take another crack at it: Stature (Young Avenger) Magneto (Wiccan and Speed's past reincarnation maternal grandfather) Vision (Wiccan and Speed's past reincarnation father) Ultron (Wiccan and Speed's past reincarnation paternal grandfather) Ant-Man (Wiccan and Speed's past reincarnation surrogate paternal great-grandfather) Captain Marvel (this one is very hard to explain but there is a very good reason) Also Loki is there (his alternate younger self Kid Loki was a Young Avenger). Now we just need a card for Prodigy (Young Avenger and X-Man and also Speed's current beau) and maybe a season for the rest of the Vision family.

Imagine Wiccan into WAVE. Then you can play 2 6 drops in turn 6. (Blob Arnim zola, Blob task master, etc) and keep in mind, that’s on top of all the cards to tempo in the previous rounds.

In Symbiotes defense for being a standalone card, it DID warp his mind and change his personality, to the point you can say hes a different character entirely. If you wanted to REALLY stretch, you could say the card is focused on the symbiote ITSELF, as it is sentient, just happens to be attached to Spiderman. Between that, and just how awesome Symbiote Spiderman is conceptually, is enough that he deserves a standalone spot. The situation with having existing variants on base Spiderman is a bit odd, but its not going to be the end of the world.

So far as I'm aware it's not confirmed that you will know what 6 cost card Hulkling copies at the start of the game. You may not know what he copied until/if you draw him.

I think ACTIVATE will be like a Hawkeye or Rescue type effect and will happen when you play the next card at that location but doesn't have to be the next turn

For symbiote spiderman i think it is a hulkbuster that triggers the on reveal when you choose to do so. Activate is a delayed on reveal, which is important as the implication is there to activate only after the turn it is played so playing activate cards on the last turn could be bad.

I think that the "copy its text like it just revealed" in Symbiote spiderman means you can re-use one time skills/texts . Like the destroy from 2099 and negasonic, and the other "activate" cards, or at least I hope so, I really wanna play 2099

I think Kate Bishop is gonna be a staple 2cost card similar to how Nebula/Kitty/Nico are staple 1cost cards - cant go wrong with her. Madame Web would be my second pick - if i get her ill actually be hooked to my move deck ngl 3rd i would go for would be Wiccan, i can see some crazy fun decks being made with him although he will be stuck with QS and Domino for sure. Loving the next two seasons now im waiting for a full Symbiote season! Hyped for the rest of the year

Symbiote Spider-Man copies the lowest cost card and if it is an on-reveal, it activates that effect again. That's why it says copy it's ability like it just revealed. But will it reactivate on-going cards if they were deactivated? Probably not because most of the on-going removal cards say remove the text. But maybe.

Probably a hold down to activate option. This would avoid accidental activations or needing to always confirm.

Symbiyote could also retrigger Black Knight but idk, thats probably no that good 😅

First things first, love the spider cards, Spiderman has always been my favorite... Secondly, I wonder if "Activate" means you tap the card (after it's been played) and then it does what the text says. So for example, you play scarlet spider, but he only clones himself, after you've tapped him either on reveal or during your next turn.

at first i was low on scarlett spider, but then i thought about namora hitting him and then getting 2 4:10 power cards is just insane

I think it will be a click to active once it's in play. I hope that would mean the you could play it and then click to activate it in one turn or play it one turn and then click to activate on another turn

Something everyone seems to be missing with Scarlett Spider... it says "exact copy" which means the copy will have the ability to make a copy of itself. So you'll be able to have up to 3 of them in a normal game (or 4-5 if you cheat him out early and/or Magik) That's HUGE!

I wonder, will Madame Web on Onslaught's Citadel allow you to move two cards away each turn?

My guess is that "activate" will be equivalent to on reveal but far better because it just cannot be stopped with something like Cosmo when played.

I haven’t seen anyone comment on this: it doesn’t say “Copy On Reveal” it says “Copy its text” with a lowercase revealed. I think that makes it ambiguous if it’ll maybe also copy any text like ongoings. I don’t think that it’ll work like that, but unless SD updates the text, I think it leaves room for interpretation.

Symbiote Spider-Man can also be used on ongoing cards say someone Red Gaurdianed or Enchantressed ur card he will gain their ability as if it just revealed so before the cards text was ruined also works for on reveal cards the same way

I will admit it if I’m wrong but I’m thinking Symbiote Spider-Man is going work to where you can play a card that has an activate and use the activation. Then activate him to merge. Post-merge text is now “as though it just revealed” so you can re-activate the previously smaller cards activation. TLDR: Maybe he is like an Odin for activate cards with extra steps. I guess we will find out!

In regards to Spider-Man already having a Scarlet Spider variant, I'm somewhat convinced it was added by mistake. That particular suit debuted in 2017ish for a Ben Reilly solo series, fans haaaaated it and it only took Ben a couple issues to get his classic hoodie back. I think someone just looked at the art assumed it was Peter's Spider-Man and threw it in.

There is also a Spider-Man variant where he is wearing the Symbiote suit, so I wonder if they will change that as well 🤔

I do think activate will re-proc on-reveals, to the point that SSM on 4 in an empty location, BP on 5, “activate” on 6 into Zemo will just be absurd

I can see down the road they will introduce the equivalent of Cosmo and Enchantress and have De-Activation cards that reverse any activation effect.

You'll tap it and then probably click a button that says activate most likely. It's the same as an activated ability from MTG but free and single use. With Symbiote, the on reveal will 100% trigger again.

This is how they rework Kang - change him to ‘activate, rewind the last turn’. That way you can play him down (suspect they lower his cost) and you can rewind one turn when you need to

So many interesting cards coming out! The 3 that I am most excited for are: 1. Kate Bishop - Love Nico and this will be an amazing utility card 2. Madame Web - This will make move tier 1 and imagine the mind games in a non-move deck e.g playing out 10 power early and moving it to avoid Shang 3. Symbiote Spider-man - Activate will add another layer of complexity to snap

I'm hoping activate is you press a button to use it once during play - and then apply that mechanic to cards like Captain America, Punisher, and Adam Warlock to make them viable.

For Madame web my first thought was Jean grey ongoing. Force them into 1 lane whilst you're able to move cards into others & win that way instead

I think you balance activate by just making it so you can’t activate it on the turn it’s played. That’s the price of having more control… for 6 cost cards, that would mean you’d have to work to get them out Early, which would justify stronger abilities

As a MOVE player, I'm extremely happy. Arana and Madame Web, alongside with Hercules going to a 3-cost, changes so much. Oh my God, Bruv! I need these ASAP! 😁

17:54 Madame Web is actually better than the space stone, because the old space stone was for moving cards TO a specific location, but this moves it away, so you have a guaranteed spot to place a move card and then move it after! That's a lot more power and not clogging up the location!

Great content and glad you made the time Cozy. I think activate will be very cool and herald the return(?) of move. Madam Web will be cool but Symbiote as well - targeted re-proc of one /two cost cards will be great. It'll be like a mini bounce with Iceman, Spider Ham, Scorpion et al. Particularly like a turn 5 snipe with Yondu and what he could hit. That could be both cool and very annoying.

IMO symbiotic should include on reveal because otherwise they would have just worded it as “copy the text” and we would get that the ongoings, triggers, and other activate cards work the same way once it merges the text. If not then it’s dumb they clarified “as if it just revealed”.

"Activate" is really going to shake things up super exciting. Still play every day but definitively less than i used too but wow these look awesome and the mind games will rain lol. I only wish it wasnt so far away

First time not a single card seems interesting (for me) in the young avengers season. For Deadpool only aiming for Copycat and Charles Sister, glad I can save keys for Spider man season

Pretty sure activate works like this: During your turn, you can tap the card to activate its ability. You can do this in sequence of other cards revealing. Example: Symbiote is alone at a location. For your turn, you play Galactus at that location, then tap Symbiote. When the turn plays out, Galactus reveals but doesn't activate, then Symbiote merges with the Galactus making him 11 power and trigger again, destroying the other locations. If you wanted to, you could've tapped Symbiote then played Galactus, but that's a horrible play

As a lover of Move archetype, I would say my top 3 cards from upcoming seasons would be : Madame Web, Symbiote Spider-Man and Arana

Activate means you can play the ability by clicking on the button the following turn after playing the card. example: play Symbiote Spider-Man on turn 4. then, on turn 5, you can activate his ability

If activate has to wait a turn to be activated, it will make things awkward for the last turn of the game unless you can play the activate cards and tell them to activate as soon as they are revealed. I'm excited to hear how the effect will be triggered.

I do think Activate cards will be cards you can tap to use their effects, but I think the downside of them is that you won't be able to activate them the same turn you play them, since it doesn't make sense to be able to activate a card that hasn't revealed yet. Also I'm almost POSITIVE that Symbiote Spiderman will re-activate On Reveal effects after he absorbs them. Otherwise there is literally no point to the card specifically saying "like they just *revealed*"

I think activate must be something you do manually, like Howard the Duck, otherwise it would just be on reveal, right? But my question is how the order works. If you can decide whether to activate before or after the cards you play on that turn reveal or move, or if it always happens before or after all cards reveal. That completely changes what Araña would do for example.

I feel like activate will likely happen as Cozy said, whenever you want. Alternatively, there could be an additional activatOR card (i.e. On Reveal: activate the abilites of all activate cards), although that seems really awful. And then isn't "activating when you play it" just On Reveal with extra steps?

Most Hyped for: #3: Hawkeye: Kate Bishop The randomness of the card reminds me of Nico. Nico has proven that even though she's random, she is still an insanely effective and competitive card and I think Kate Bishop will be no different. Also I love how they're incorporating her arrows into the ability as they're her signature weapon. This is what Hawkeye should be and maybe they could add some interaction with him? Think the arrows are awesome and unique and definitely make room for even more arrow abilities in the future..... #2: Madame Web This may be the missing piece that makes move a truly competitive arche-type. The ability to set up your combo and then play it out almost every turn is insane and I think she'll be very effective even outside of move decks such as in Angela and Hope summers decks. She'll also work really well with Arana especially with that activate ability! She basically gives a card in her location a nightcrawler effect every single turn! #1: Symbiote Spider This is gonna be such an insane card mainly because of the new key word: Activate. It's gonna be really fun to play with and the combos are gonna be insane! I like how it's like a cheaper Odin and it doesn't have to only work with on-reveal cards. The potential to join with Negasonic and destroy multiple of your opponent's cards is intriguing along with joining with other cards that can only trigger once. (dare I say, is Spider-Man 2099 a viable synergy??😄). Black Panther gets to an insane 28 power when activated with Symbiote! 4▶8⏭14▶28 Love the new mechanic and way to play the game and that's why this card has me the most hyped!

I've wondered about the variants that are different i.e. Scarlett Spider would ever be brought to the game because Red Goblin is an example of a different abilities than its original form and it should deserve its own card

ACTIVATE would be a broken mechanic. Basically, it would be an on reveal effect that you can use whenever you want after playing the card at it can't be countered.😅

My only questions with regard to activate are: 1. Is there a cost to activate? - For instance, if you play a 1 cost 1 power activate card, do you have to pay 1 energy to activate the card, or is activation free 2. Can you activate the turn the card is played - I assume not since scarlet spider wld literally be a 4 cost 10 power if activation was free AND could be activated the turn it was played 3. When do activation effects resolve? - For example, if I play a 2 cost 2 power activation card turn 2 and on turn 3 i play storm on the same location and use the activate card's effect that turn, which card resolves first? Does storm flood the location then the activate card goes off? Or do activation effects take priority over on reveal effects Many questions that seem very integral to the way these card will interact with the infrastructure of the game as we know it

LOL we do have a scarlet spider variant for Spider-Man. But then again we have an enchantress/Sylvie variant for Loki.

Spanish player here: you've pronounced Araña flawlessly. On the other hand, I think "Copy its text like it just revealed" makes Symbiote an on-activate Odin: activate, merge, copy text and if it's On Reveal, run effect. EDIT: If the clone of Scarlet Spider is an EXACT clone, wouldn't it have the ability of making a clone too? I mean play 1st Scarlet Spider, activate, makes a clone, activate the clone, makes another clone....

This is the first set of cards I feel like all can have benefit and the keys have value every week.

Never thought I’d be saying this but I’m excited for Madame web to be in the game lol. Move was one of the first archetypes I loved when I got into the game. She sounds busted for the archetype Top 3 would be: Madame Web Scarlet Spider Araña

Speaking of "Activate", for now it seems to me they play semantics, meaning that "Activate" is another way to say "On reveal", but I don't know, I give myself the benefit of doubt. However, they have to explain more in depth what this new mechanic is, for example: if "Activate" will be a new feature in Snap, this means there will be a Cosmo-like-card to silence this effect? We need more info.
