In honor of the GOAT while he is still with us, we should have The Efren Reyes World Cup (Mosconi Cup is Europe v USA) - Asia v Europe v US. Sponsors out there get your act together now before the GOAT is no longer with us.

Its amazing that i came across this video today. I have known Rfren going back to 1990. I was not good enough to play him on the pool table, but did practice with him often when he was in LA playing Cash Games or Tournaments at Hard Times. I played a lot of Chess with him. I agree with what he said him this video about wanting to play games where he could use his mind. We took turns of beating each other in Chess, He was a very strong player back then. My guess he was around a USCF rating of 1800. He often asked to used my Sneaky Pete maybe by Little AL to play snooker with the guys at Hard Times. He never lost a game with my Cue and i still have it today.

He may not have the most us open titles or world championships, but everybody learned from him in the 70s and 80s, from kicking to safety, that's why he is the GOAT.
@richardcerritelli96576 ай бұрын
It is acknowledged he don't have the most World Championships or US Open titles butt they know he's usually the best player out there because big money events he always wins.

I played Efren in 2017, the game was the best three out of five in nine ball. Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me!

I would have loved to hear more about the Color of Money match of his with Earl Strickland. I know Efren was behind with a huge deficit and he climbed back and won. I think it's the greatest one-on-one pool match ever between two of the greatest at that time. I'm glad I am alive to witness the greatest pool player of all time. Idol!

@@dormamo6917 it all has to be effects, it would be best if they picked someone who can pass as a phillipino, but someone who can mimic Efrens style which is very distinctive
@arkadiuszsmorag61456 ай бұрын
Let me refrase this. It should be unknown actor who will learn the basics very well and study Efrens style but the most crazy magician shots would have to be cgi. Also it be cool to see Efren as a child, teenager and then coming to America to a big stage. Its so movieable

I would love to play him, I was good 50 years ago, and I'm 77 now. I am from England where they play "English Pool "with smaller balls smaller pockets, not the same at all I won many trophies about 80 plus. I came to Thailand 18 years ago ( aged 59) I started playing as we said in the UK American pool with big balls that thundered down the table. It took a while to get used to it but I learnt in Bangkok and became good again at this new game, big balls and big pockets. I live in North East Thailand now, I travel around and have a game of pool most places win 70% of the games I play. But it has always been a hobby, but I would love to play him, Efren is the greatest player I have seen, there are other good players with big mouths, Efren shouts on the table and smiles off it. Nice bloke off the table.

literal translation for this part that got summarized in the video: (TLDR: Efren lowkey said that when he saw both the good and bad players among of the 128 players in Red's Houston practicing, he knew the skill diff is huge) *I'm not a pool player so please correct me if you see something. 19:35 to 20:07 All of them went there to practice. They'll take out the balls and finish a table, all of them. Anyone who arrived would clear a set. But sometimes there are people who would struggle when the balls didn't bounce correctly on their break shot. They would struggle. Ever since I saw that, I knew I'm already in an advantage against those people. I'm in advantage. 20:09 Okay, so I also saw good players who also didn't break properly--the balls aren't scattered. Difficult to play. I also saw them play. Those players are far from me. They can't beat me. They're only good at pocketing. 20:27 That's how I knew I'm in advantage agains't them. Because me, I have this 👉🧠
