In this video, we are going to show you How to recover gold from cpu sockets. We had 120 Pieces of these sockets. So we thought to make a video for you guys. The CPU Sockets are used under processors. You will find these sockets inside the computer and laptop's motherboard. There are gold-plated pins inside the sockets. These pins contain gold. We are showing you how to recover gold from these pins.

I ran across CPU sockets in my salvage bin where a dozen or so had very small gold wire in each pin hole. They are not magnetic and look to be gold. Can you tell us anything about these? I can’t imagine I have to process these with chemicals if pure gold. Note - thousands of these wires don’t even total a gram. Thank you!

Why the sulphuric acid? What other metals have you concerned? I can get sulphuric locally for $20 a liter, but what's it's purpose in this process? For tin?

If a few ml of sulfuric acid is dropped, tin and lead are precipitated and deposited at the bottom.

One more question. If there was any smb from the 1st drop still around wouldn't it interfere with the 2nd Aqua Regia ?

Acid is acidic and SMB is alkaline. When I finish filtering, notice that I pour fresh water into the filter funnel to wash away all acidity and alkalinity.

Please help me understand what's happening here. After the 1st AR bath the liquid clearly contained various metals including copper. After the 2nd AR the liquid was clean yellow gold acid. Where did all the other metals in solution go?
