I have an Iden on the way, looking forward to getting an inferno squad pack too in future, because TIE pilot spec ops is pretty cool. One of my favourite units though, is the AT-ST, it's just such a cool looking piece that is so imposing.

I love the Shore troopers and death troopers as they are so effective also glad to see Veers on there. I am hoping the Empire gets some Legion love again soon

My guess for number one is Palpatine. He has some really good command card and some powerful attacks. With the new stuff coming out I bet IRG will be getting some more action!

My fav is either Vader or Death Troopers. Both are extremely fun and Vader synergies with the Empire so well and his infinite courage is insane.

I'd love to see more of these synergy videos. I'm new to Legion, trying to understand how units help each other. Im a transplant from years of 40k etc.. Loved playing Armada and your videos were very helpful there. I have the original core set, do you need the new core book to have all up to date rules??? Or just print out FAQ sheets? Thanks

I got Iden and Shores right! Veers was a surprise, as were Death troopers as they dont seem to pop out as much as they used to.

I would agree with this I kinda would have liked to see bossk in here but I understand he’s not always the most versatile.

The way he says AT-AT kills me

I feel like if you are taking the Death Troopers, you have to include at least 1 medical droid. If the LAAT/le was as flexible as the AA5 party bus (specifically the field hospital option) it would have worked perfectly with the Death Troopers (not to mention Vader and Palpatine). The Imperial Officer is another great unit to include, given her price point. Iden Versio is such a power house, it is hard to envision a Imperial force without her.

O man I use veers with two shoretroopers and their mortar and I also run de cheap comander so aims always there and the HQ uplink man that combo sounds perfect I need to try it next time.

Let’s see, what is my list… Based on unit cards, cost, command cards, and potential upgrades: 1. Palpatine - even without burst of speed, he commands every table 2. Iden - she is just so good 3. Bossk - don’t sleep on Bossk. He is still good even though no one plays him 4. Shoretroopers 5. ISF

I love Boba Fett and really want to use him along with Veers, he has such good mobility. I really wish snowtroopers were the better core option. I like them so much more. I haven't really played enough to give any judgements though. I also look forwards to Palpatine being more useful. I personally don't like Inferno Squad at all lore-wise, I _really_ dislike Iden Versio, in part for c-blocking me on an Imperial campaign and I will never forgive any of them for this.

No guesses for me, still trying to decide which core box I want to start with!

A bit late to the party perhaps, but I friend sent me a link to this vid (which I liked). So, here’s my two cents ( or four 😏) Yeeeah, as he said; it’s subjective. That, and this video is a year old; a lot has changed - point costs in particular. /My/ Top Five Imperial Units based on what I got and have used: 1. Imperial Stormtroopers. I don’t care what /anybody/ says - they beat the breaks off crappy Shoretroopers; better point costs, and much better heavy weapon and personnel selections. I can kit them out for most anything. 2. Occupier Tank. Dammmn right; the earth quakes as I inexorably roll down on my opponents, blazing away with the Occupier’s fine array of weaponry (/always/ take Hammer Pilot, DLT-19 and Linked Targeting Array 🤠). Great synergy with an embarked Stormtrooper squad equipped with an HH-12 and an R4 Astromech. 3. Imperial Death Troopers. Straight forward and easy use as Special Forces go, they excel as “Super Stormtroopers”. With their dead accuracy and suppression weaponry, they’re great at killing other infantry units. While their Ready 1 ability (and the option to take Overwatch) would indicate they’d be great at holding objectives, in my experience it just doesn’t come up very much because of the way objectives are setup; I had them guard an objective /once/ and… they stood around doing nothing for the rest of the game. They’ve be much more effective on the frontline. 4. Imperial Officer. Ya know, it’s /General/ Veers. Not captain, not lieutenant - General. He belongs in Grand Army lists… not commanding a handful of units. And at 30 points less, my Imperial Officer does her job just fine; she’s there to issue orders, spot, and inspire. 5. Scout Troopers. New flavor of the month, though I haven’t used them yet. They should add great value though. Honorable Mention: Imperial Special Forces/Inferno Squad. They’re… alright. They’re cool lookin’ at least. Infiltrate is cool, but (as was mentioned in the video) you need to make sure you bid low to make the most of it. I’d much rather have Precise than crappy Marksman (I want MORE hits, not just improving the hits I’ve got). Reliable 1 is, well - reliable. But a crappy surge token? Meh. Death Troopers are superior.

I know that Iden and ISF are super strong, they just aren't units I care about at all. I'm not into them aesthetically or lore wise and those are both big for me personally, heck I think I like the normal imperial officer about as much as Iden (obviously again I'm not talking in terms of power, she is obviously super strong). I'll stick with Death Troopers, IRG and Scouts in my special forces slots I think, but to each their own.

No reason we shouldn’t get Dark Troopers, Republic Commandos and a Bad Batch expansions.

Commanders and operatives should be separated from the units.

My top 5 turned out a heck of a lot different than yours: 1. Bossk 2. Iden 3. Shores 4. Strike Teams 5. Veers/generic officer Bossk just slays, and slays, and suppresses. Quite reliably, and quite well on a good turn of Imperial Aim sharing. Great at shredding both elite and chaff units, being a pain, and can wreck a Clone ball with his grenade. Iden is well, Iden. She is great at any range, and makes our mostly crap special forces units sing. ISF, she makes them amazing, full Scouts? They are playable with her. Death Troopers? They become good-ish, they are still overcosted crap that are easily removed by units people spam (snipers and ARCs) to pad activations. Shores are just the most lethal thing Empire can put on the table in the Corps slot, and I don't even bother with the mortars. Mortars are just sniper/ARC bait and an easily lost activation. Shores are just great with the T-21, Offensive Push, and maybe Targeting Scopes for added reliability from the Aims. I honestly find Empire Strike Teams severely lacking and honestly compare very poor to most of the other faction's Strike Teams... but they are cheap activations that are great to plink damage, or be a quick activation as you try to hold off exposing one of your alpha strike units. And Veers/generic officer. I have them both tied, because they kind of do the same thing, although at different levels of efficiency. Veers is great for his points, and yeah, the range 3 gun can come in clutch, it is really just a bonus. His 3 pip, Spotter 2, and red save make him a great primary commander supporting discount Storm squads with RT-97C/T-21. Making Shores even more reliable, and generating an amazing Coordinated Fire turn. However, I often find Veers too expensive when run with somebody like Iden, Vader, ect. They want the points for themselves and their supporting cast, and thT is where the generic is great as a discount Veers.

Iden to ISF to Shoretroopers to Death Troopers to Krennic. Dont like the lists that mix the two though, I feel like krennic and iden lists do best as solo commanders

i find imperial special forces to be one of the worst units. theyre horribly overpriced by 10+ points. death troopers are way better. deathtroopers give you 50% more survivability and WAY better offensive output (at range 4) for only 13 extra points. and all you lose is infiltrate which isnt that great anyway. also bossk should be top 5 not ISF.

ISF are bad... this list isn't great. Why play ISF when you can play DT for better dice, surge to block, etc etc
