Thank you for sharing!! I have hiked this trail quite a few times before and after the steps, railings and overlooks were added by the State. You did a great job & made it look so easy!! The next time that you go, try to capture the outside telephone that's set up in the forest!! I found that hilarious, but useful if needed!! (On the right hand side of the trail, after the parking lot bridge & before the first overlook, going up). This was a beautiful video!! Thanks again!!

Hi, thanks for checking this one out. I have also backpacked from here up to Spy Rock and then to the Priest. That is a beast of a climb with a pack in the hot summer. Whew! I need to get back out here, its been several years now. Appreciate you stopping by the channel. I have 200+ videos and lots of other VA hikes in case your interested. Hi, so glad you found my channel. I honestly don't do printable maps except when I am backpacking. I use the All-Trails App. The free version works great! It has GPS directions, and it shows your location on the map. Beware of driving to the upper parking lot fyi, that road gets really bad with potholes. The lower lot is always fine. Hiking Upward has a map of lots of hikes on their website, not sure if its very good printed. Sorry I couldn't be of more help with this one. ~RVA~

Have u done the priest and spy rock , the upper falls parking lot makes east access to those , priest is fun also coming from 56

I have day hiked Spy Rock and section hiked Spy Rock and camped up there for the night. I have also done the lower Crabtree Falls parking up passed the upper Crabtree Parking up to Spy Rock in the heat of the summer and almost died from the heat. Once I finish the SNP 100 I will start back south from the Tye River and do the Priest.

@@RVAHikerGirl the priest is touph the way u want to go , better workout that way then go to the upper parking lot , was not able to do my section hike (front royal to harpers ferry) the cold still gas a grip on me , will get out soon I hope, this comming week, they are calling for rain for that section, not worth it , keep in touch , cheers

@@RVAHikerGirl thanks for keeping in touch , yeah this week and last week has been a complete cluster F , we decided to to take the camper out , got a spot at James river state park, so when I got in yesterday to turn the refrigerator on , saw a water leak , we canceled only to take back to dealer (as it is new) , I swear the devil is chasing me !! Tell Jay bird that maybe we all can go as a group to Grason highlands or grandfather mountain (bucket list)

Beautiful! I'm thinking about heading there this weekend. Noticed the light jacket, is it that much cooler up there? Looks like you had it all to yourself which is also awesome!..lol!

Warning it will be a zoo up there this weekend and you may not find a parking spot. There are 2 lots but its one of the most popular waterfalls in the state. Go early if you go on any weekend. Its suppose to be in the 90's this weekend but always have a rain jacket or light jacket just in case as it usually a bit cooler in the mornings and nights! Have fun checking out the falls! Make sure you go all the way to the top! Great view from up there!

Jessica Nowlin no water crossings. Just trail and steps. You can put your feet in the falls in a few areas if you choose to. Have fun on your hike there!

I’m heading there in the morning. Used to go camping up there often and never went to the falls. Just got 2 knee replacements a few months ago so I’m going to test them out.

Will do. Do you park up the gravel road? I believe it’s Forest road.

Actually depending on if you park at the lower or upper parking lot determines which way will be up hill. If you park at the lower lot down by the long wooden bridge that runs over the Tye River (at the end of my video) then it will be all up hill going and down hill coming back. We hiked past the other higher up lot. Be sure to go all the way to the top because the views from up there on the man made rock landing/overlook are gorgeous!

@@geardoc if you park on the upper lot, you will miss the lower falls. Unless you decide to go down and come back up. I think its probably prettier viewing the falls starting at the bottom and hiking up to the top. But they are beautiful no matter what. Happy Hiking!

RVA Hiker Girl I started at the bottom to the top and back. Left knee started feeling it but it’s only been 3 months. Can’t wait to go back in spring. Worth the 3 hour drive from Yorktown!
