Give him that 1 year of rehab in Florida for this man instead of Rebecca. I love her but she clearly doesn’t want it or wouldn’t make it count if she did go. This man says he is ready right now to make a change in his life, he deserves and is ready for rehab. This man deserves to live the rest of his life with more happiness.

I think Rebecca needs more help than just rehab. I'm 11 months off meth now after several fuck ups and redos, I never experienced meth induced psychosis bc I was never awake for longer than 3 or 4 days during my everyday 2.5 year run, but I feel like she has other things going on with psychosis. But she definitely needs the help but she has to really want it and I messed up many times bc I didn't think I had a problem. But my problem is me and I'm trying now. I hope Donald gets better, he has a lot of pain and sadness in his voice...

I wish I could take credit for helping him, but I pray and plea the blood of Jesus over this man. They only thing I know to do... I never comment on these videos but as a current college student in Cleveland studying social work this truly touched me. Mark please get Donald the help he needs, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so strong about an interviewee before. I’m truly rooting for him. More importantly make sure he sees these comments, he needs to know how much support he has and how many people genuinely want to see him succeed. Lastly Donald if you’re reading this just do it bro. Do it for your mom, do it for your family, your kids, your grandkids, do it for yourself. You deserve happiness and most importantly PEACE and you won’t find it through continuing down this path.

I am genuinely balling my eyes out right now, this is so sad. Sir, please go home, be with your mother. I've been in similar situations, and I'm currently caring for my mother who is in her late 80s, - my brothers gave this task, as they knew it would limit my drug use, and give me a responsibility, something I've never had my whole entire life, and I'm well into my 50s. I was once told something at a therapy session, I believe it might be Buddhist, it can sound a little brutal, but it's not meant that way, - "What cannot be changed, MUST be accepted." You're only so reliant on the cocaine, because you keep dwelling on the past, and the negative, but that is just a futile game of self torture. Please sir, you have the words, wisdom, empathy and the knowledge, you're better than you think, much better, I assure you. Please, go home, be with your mother, for your mother, and most importantly for yourself. love to ALL, feel no hate

The sad part is that just like the other 99.9% of addicts that are out there they have chosen the drugs and lifestyle that goes with that over all family members and friends. I am not trying to judge this man nor am I trying to judge his circumstances. I’m fully aware that there are some who are homeless and addicted to something and they got there through no fault of their own. I’m not saying this is a bad person and yes addiction is hell for the addicts and the addicts families. I’m simply pointing out the obvious and that is the choices we make effects so many others than we understand. So we just quit trying to understand and focus on what is needed to be able to feed our habits. God bless this man and his family

He may not be welcome home with his mother. I haven't used drugs in 6 or 7 months and my mother still won't speak to me. Only about me still trying to get everyone to turn their backs on me and calls every now and then screaming about what a piece of shit I am. I do try to reach out and let her know I still love her etc from time to time. That's my blood mother atleast. Even before that I hadn't gone near her if I was using at the time for years I'd only come around sober, even if I had to be sick to do so. I do have someone I call Mom that is supportive and wants the very best for me and I'm very thankful for that. I hope he and his mother can reunite before she or he passes as I do with my own mother aswell though. It sounds like you have a great family Ian Tanner and I wish you the best.

Donald, my father suddenly died when I was 9. There were 3 children and I was the middle child. Due to how difficult this was, and cultural factors, we almost never talked about Dad after that. After Dad died , and we moved back to our home, (after staying with my grandmother (his mother) for a couple of weeks), and I have almost no memories from that point until I became a teenager.

Absolutely heart wrenching. This was me! FULL of guilt and shame, wanted to numb all of that pain. Until I went to a good treatment place, and learned so much about mental health, began to forgive myself, asked God to remove my shame and guilt, and declare today that it HAS been removed! I’m on the right mental health meds finally, and after 20 years of hell, feel like I’m living. I pray for this precious man. I feel his pain. But I would tell this man, don’t just sit there and “wait on God”, God has given you the tools to start making changes, you also have to do the footwork!

Donald I’m in Germany. I’ve been listening to your story 40 minutes straight! You’ve been so hard on yourself and I somehow can resonate but please give your heart PEACE. Your mother needs you. As a caretaker for my father I can tell you that our time with our parents is limited and best believe if your mother is no more that pain will eat you alive. Go and spend some time with her. FORGET about EVERYONE who wants to judge you! We are all sinners no one has the right to judge another. You’re so self aware! You said you need help MARC this is YOUR sign!! This man is ready to get help. His voice, stature and everything he said is pure poetry. Give this man the arm he was talking about please.

A Buddhist Prayer for Forgiveness ~ If I have harmed anyone in any way either knowingly or unknowingly through my own confusions, I ask their forgiveness. If anyone has harmed me in any way either knowingly or unknowingly through their own confusions, I forgive them. And if there is a situation I am not ready to forgive, I forgive myself for that. For all the ways that I harm myself, negate, doubt, belittle myself, judge or be unkind to myself, judge or be unkind to myself through my own confusions, I forgive myself. Donald you are worth it!!!

I grew up in the 80s and 90s I did my share of drugs every kind, I love to get high especially psychedelics and cocaine but I realized no matter how much I liked it I could always put it down able to use recreationally but I lost many friends along the way that couldn’t stop and it became everything to them everyday so tragic and hell to watch helplessly

I wish he was aked why he was expelled from college. I think the roots for his guilt (which pushed him to the need to feel numb and therefore to the drug) are there.
