No!!!! You can have that repaired for not too much. I trashed my LOOK last summer, the chainstay was shattered. I had it repaired for not too much money. It depends whether you love that bike or not. (which you seem to)

This crack is eminently fixable. You can easily acess the crack location in chainstay from the BB. Use resin impregnated carbon fibre weave and push thme into the location and then insert an old inner tube and blow it upo top push the patch onto the crack. I would do 2 or 3 patches in succession to ensure good coverage and location. A few hours of work will save the pink.

I snapped my seat stay and chain stay on my carbon frame (2013 Merida Scultura). I had it repaired (not cheap) and rode it for a couple more seasons. That being said, I never fully trusted it afterwards and had horrible images of it breaking again while zipping down a hill, with catastrophic consequences. Now it is exclusively a trainer bike and the Ti bike is on the road. While as others said below, it's easy to patch that kind of crack, I think you might want to get the bike assessed professionally in case there are other cracks/weaknesses as a consequence that are not yet apparent. If it broke in one place, it might have weakened elsewhere too, and you don't want it to break again in dangerous circumstances.

I guess it can be successfully repaired however you have to balance the cost of repairing it against a new frame . Personally I would just go for a new frame but that's only my opinion. Good luck Ben.👍

I would think you could get that fixed, it all comes down to the price and the hassle in the end. Might even be a firm in the Toon that could do it. Not ever owned a carbon bike but I have owned lots of carbon fishing rods, enough to know that they are easy to snap, except the Diawa Connoisseur which was a top notch hand made piece of carbon. Fancy A Time or a Look frame? Well you squeeze out your money you get your product. Then again, I ride a Ribble Endurance TI, I'm past racing age and it feels fantastic to me. Good luck whatever you do with it, what I did would depend on funds at the time. I'd think twice about riding it, if you, do film it so that we can watch you fall off, you know, when it errr, goes

If it’s for the turbo I’d just monitor it or do a diy repair with some epoxy resin. If riding outdoors get it fixed mate

as a Composite tech and cyclist I'd say it's obviously a repair. peel back the layers one at a time razor and scalpel style work. lifte and peel. .. replace them with same. or just inject and plug after drilling the end of the crack and softening it's edges. expose the damage and find out. remember old chainsuck plates? maybe have them add inserts for one while it's being repaired. I have one on my 95 930 and there's not a spot of damage on the frame.

You have to determine what is cheaper and makes more sense..I would not mess with carbon unless I am sponsored or have money for an extra frame..

FIX it and keep it for the turbo trainer. You can get junk front wheel and keep the carbon wheels for the next road build. Or not fix and just ride it on the trainer until it gives up. Seems like a lot easier to travel with the front wheel , bike and a turbo

Same thing happened to my Colnago M10 frame. I sent the pictures of the crack to a carbon repair business here in the US and the reply I got was they did not want to repair it because the repair would not last. The chainstay is an area of the frame that takes the most forces, probably why your frame cracked to begin with. I wouldn't put any more money into it. Just move on.

I repair Carbon frames..up to you ,but personally ,If you like the frame..FIX IT. If not ,then don’t. If left will get worse. So would not just keep riding it indoors though.

my mate works at team cycles & he sent his new madone to a girl in middlesbrough for some airbrush work & i am sure her husband does carbon repairs.may not be cost effective.

Is that one of those future landfill carbon frames ? If it is get a proper steel 531 frame that will last several lifetimes so after reincarnation it will still be usable, funny really with all the cracked carbon bikes which there will be more and more year on year we will have to come up with an industry what are we going to do with them all , may be use them for history lesson for schools as examples to the younger generations to come to show them that once upon a time we thought this was a good idea , at least it will give our future generations something to laugh about.
