Just wanted to point that at 1:44 they do appear but you need to move to the correct octave within the piano roll.

THe reason you didn't see the flex pitch lines was because they were effectively out of range. and not in view when you first clicked it in the edit area. Notice that when you first clicked the FP button you were approximately at c7 but the detected pitches are round about c3. Scrolling up or down, depending on where you are will show the flex "lines'"!

Hi Charles, as allways your video's are clear, nice and crisp. The subject however leaves me with a question: As you can bounce a region with effects or bypassing these fx, is it possible to bounce a region with flexpitching into a new region with this tuning withoutt having to use the flexpitch tool anymore?

At 1:45 when you say "midi bars are supposed to pop up but now they are not, I don't know why"... Well, actually you are not in the right octave. When you open up the flexpitch for the first time it starts at the top of the piano roll in C8 while your notes are around C3. :)

Is there a way to set parameters on the gain for all notes? So that compressors and vocal riders aren’t even needed?

Great tutorial! As soon as I enable Flex Pitch on a vocal track, I notice weird archives happening before I even make any adjustments. And occasional snaps and pops in the track. Have you seen that? Any ideas how to fix it?

Hey Justin, I've sometimes had the issue as well, especially with flex-time. Try taking a look at the region editor, you can adjust the "flex and follow" input. This should fix the issue.

Hi Charles, great video here! I have a question ... when using flex pitch in the editor, why are midi vocal regions sometimes missing? Occasionally, I open up FP and some are missing, although their same vocal region in the arrange window is there. Thanks for your help!

Hi john, try clicking the flex pitch button again, this sometimes happens to me where I don't see everything as well.

Select the region, then within the editor window, select Edit in the top left. There should be an “analyze audio for flex audio” or something like that. Logic will then re-analyze the audio data. Hopefully that works!

Is there a randomize pitch option with Flex Pitch to apply to on the entire vocal track as in Melodyne?

I’ve been playing with Flex Pitch a little and using it to not only correct the pitch but the timing as well. But I noticed that if I want to reset the note to its original, pure recorded state, I can only reset the pitch to original but not the timing. Am I missing something or is that just the way it is? Also, Is there a visual indicator that lets us know we’ve applied Flex Pitch to a note, in the same way that it’s obvious we’ve applied Flex Time? Thanks!

Super voice. I have Melodyne as well and want to ask if Auto Tune is kind of the same thing. Would Auto Tune bring my voice a step further or does Melodyne do the job 100%? It’s right what you say about Logic.

hey GAD, melodyne would do the trick on it's own but you can get a similar result with auto-tune. Sometimes you can hear the auto-tune plugin, with melodyne, it's more difficult to hear. In general, with both cases, if you sing really out of tune, you'll hear both!

.??? At 1:37-1:38 you were viewing a flex time drop down’ and then said ’lets go to flex pitch’ , clicked something and the editor window changed..but it wasn’t clear what you clicked. I can’t get the actual flex pitch screen in the editor with the keyboard down the left hand side.

He clicked the flex button. He calls it a DNA symbol. But it’s the bow tie looking thing that enables flex. He just re clicked it.

I’m having a problem in some projects where I open flex pitch it analyzes, but I click it the vocal track does not become see through and I cannot see the notes.
