@@ilychawntrue… one thing that initially had me drawn to “drill” was how authentic it was. It’s real street music. I grew up on “gangster” rap but rarely had it ever felt quite like drill in the 2010s. It’s the rawest “murder” rap out there. As I have gotten older it’s harder to take it on because I now value life much more than I once did and it’s truly tragic seeing these kids lose their lives. Most of these guys never had a real chance… born into a vicious cycle that is seemingly never-ending. That being said, the music is undeniably abrasive and visceral.
