Omg it does sound like we have very similar styles! Very jealous of your cottagey house, that’s the dream! Yarn is definitely addictive, I’m on a self imposed ban right now because I’m sorting it out and I can’t pretend I don’t have enough anymore 🤣🤣 Interesting that you quilt! @@meemamakes ok can't find my reply so here we go. the KZfaq Channel I watch is Missouri Star Quilt Company. About 7 to 8 years ago I couldn't sew a button on and now I am making SuperKing Quilts for the beds. jenny Doan at MSQ really taught me to sew. They show you the completed quilt and then demonstrate how to make a block and set it out. Don't look at the whole quilt when making one as it is very overwhelming. Look at the quilt one block at a time and the rest will all fall into place when you have completed all blocks. I also watch Lori Holt at Bee in my Bonnet as she does a lot of Applique Quilts. I am currently making a Sunbonnet Sue Quilt. Very old block, I think 17th or 18th Century. But ohhhh such fun. Another thing I have learnt, the quilts for the bed - instead of purchasing fabric for that size quilt, which is very pricy and you would have to piece t together. I go into Dunelm and purchase one of their SuperKing flat sheets and use that for the back of the quilt, after all that is what it is for. I would be pleased to help you at any time regarding quilting, it can be overwhelming and confusing but once you understand the different techniques you'll be fine. I have done some hand piecing previously and tried to piece a quilt from old sheets before but I never finished anything. I’ll be binging those channels now!
