Wow! The blinds would have done me in. You are fearless, Sandra. Really beautiful and functional changes you've made. I love your colorful chair. So recognizable as 'Sandra's craft room chair' over the years, but I have a feeling you've come-up with a better, gentler color that works in harmony with the rest of your room. Thank you so much for this video of wonderful ideas. Everything is so lovely. No idea what you're up to with the yarn.

Ha ha thanks! The blind wasn’t too bad in the end. I was careful when I took it apart to take photos so I knew how to re assemble! ☺️❤️The chair was quite a challenge though I will say! 😂

Your craft room is looking lovely! Watching you update your shade (window curtain) brought back memories of me making shades for my living and dining rooms 15 yrs ago! I had never made anything so elaborate before. I had 2 very large picture windows (1 - 6ft wide , the other 8 feet wide) and 2 very narrow windows ( 8 ft in length but only 18" wide. ) Custom shades were going to be way too expensive so I bought lumber, and thin dowel rods ( too thin!) for structure. I used the wrong fabric ( rigid upholstery), duck cloth might have been easier! But I wanted something to block the sun. They weighed a ton! But they worked. What a project! 😊 Can't wait to see what you do with that yarn! 💜
@CherryHeart
@CherryHeart 4 ай бұрын
Oh that’s awesome! Especially making all the structure for it as well, what a brilliant job. It’s amazing what we can achieve when we put our minds to it. I must admit it was similar for me. I haven’t done this much sewing for a long time and it’s been quite some time since I last attempted curtains and such like. It was actually good to try something a little more challenging again. If only to remind myself that I can! ☺️🥰❤️

You must really be connecting with your new space after all the small pretty details Sandra! I am feeling a little motivation to get my plain blackout curtains finished. They need hemming which I put off because they are so heavy. I have only lived here now three years. 😬 Not good. You have done so much in a short time. I am excited to see more. 🧶🧵🧶

Great ideas, Sandra. I especially liked the idea of using blackout lining to protect the fabrics... Faded stripes when one opens out folded fabric that has had sun shine on it are a very real (and annoying) thing! I wouldn't have thought of using blackout lining🤭. So thanks for sharing your makeovers. I can't wait to see the chair and finishing of the blind😍

Hi Sandra! Wow!! A very late comment from me, though I watched the video on the actual day! I was just so amazed at the level of organisation and planning that goes into your projects...🤯😂...from start to finish. I think that's the key to finishing things properly though. Making the commitment to start, materials and tools ready, and an achievable goal . Sounds so simple and you make it look easy, but I'm sure it's trickier than it looks.😅 Fabulous and inspiring video,thankyou!!!❤
@CherryHeart

Ahh thanks so much! Yeah these things do sometimes take a while to bring together. I tend to do a lot of thinking before I actually start anything. Which in some ways it’s good as I can plan and work it through and other times just means it takes me forever to start projects or get anything done at all! 😂🤦‍♀️ This time I thought I’d better grab the momentum while I have it or I’ll end up procrastinating for another 5 years or so. 😂😂❤️❤️

It looks great. Unrelated, i was inspired by your hexagon cardigan and made one. It was a lot of faffing about as i had to work out some problems, but it looked good. I wore it couple of times but now it's stretched and looks like it would fit someone twice my size. How do i prevent this in future? Does some yarn stretch more than other yarn? Should i make a smaller size? But then how will i know how much it will stretch? Help!
@CherryHeart
@CherryHeart 4 ай бұрын
Ahh that’s such a shame after all your effort! It might be the yarn. I made a cardigan in alpaca once that grew loads in length. Alpaca is stretchy and the stitch pattern I used meant the cardigan was really heavy! Cotton can do the same, it kind of can grow under its own weight. The other thing can be when it’s washed. It can grow massively then if it’s not done carefully, again depending on the yarn and how it’s washed and so on. ❤️
@Enoo-Wynn
