You do a wonderful job organizing! I had a room nearly as big that I had stocked and I'm organized but I still forgot stuff and found I wasn't using it like I could. So about 10 years ago, I went all digital. I got rid of everything in equipment and supplies, papers and embellishments. It freed up the whole room, valuable real estate, lol. Now all I need is good computer equipment and I print digital scrapbooks at Shutterfly in book form. I collect digital embellishments and papers and have it all organized on my computer hard drives (one for work which includes all my digital photos and two more for backups). So my hard drive is as organized as your room and closet. I have a good scanner for old photos so even my photos are all digital. I create my own 12x12 pages and save as a file. Then I upload to Shutterfly and store in albums. Once I get enough to do books, I create the book in Shutterfly and print it, it's so much easier to store than the old scrapbooks. I've done family genealogy books, family history books, family recipe books, scrapbooks for all my nieces, nephews and now, grandnieces and grandnephews. I've done personal journals, Bible study journals, vacation and holiday scrapbooks all in 12 x 12. I do a lot of Bible studies so I've "printed" my own books of Bible studies by doing it as scrapbook pages and then print in book form. I've done verse mapping, induction studies, topical studies, character studies, book studies, etc all on scrapbook pages and printed in book form. Printing the books are pricey but considering all the supplies, equipment, organizational supplies I think I come out cheaper doing it digitally. The computer equipment is dual usage. I use it for all my scrapping but also for all my other stuff like shopping, social media, blogging, etc. I used to be the Historian for my Daughters of the American Revolution chapter and I did annual scrapbooks. The ladies loved them. BTW, your dogs are adorable. I have a little chi and Yorkie and 4 cats who keep me company.

I haven’t watched the video yet but I want to say first that I’ve been REALLY looking forward to your craft room tour. I’ve watched most if not all of your other organization videos and they are very helpful. You have quite the stash of goodies and it’s so inspiring! I’ve only been paper crafting for a few years total and while I don’t have nearly the collection you have I’m getting there 😂 You have inspired me so much since I’ve found your channel and these are some of my favorite videos. I also love your page kit videos and your layout sharing videos. You are very talented and I thank you for sharing. Off to watch the video now. I’m going to grab a drink and a snack and get cozy. Im really looking forward to this! Much love ❤

LOVE your room and your organization!💖 I learned about your flip bin storage idea and switched to it for my paper and collections and it has been life changing! Thank you! I have an idea about your short pen issues. If you happen to prefer them in the original storage piece that your longer ones are still in, you could put something inside the little slots, (maybe a couple of marbles or something), and that would stop the short pens from going in so deep that they disappear. Then you could easily grab them!
@YesPleasePapercrafts
@YesPleasePapercrafts 11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I did think about adding something like a shim to the spaces and I definitely think that would have worked well for the shorter pens but after watching a bunch of KZfaq videos on pen and marker storage I decided to try out the drawers and I really love them because I can grab a whole bunch of pens at one time. 🤗

Your room is very cool! I love all your furniture! I have a giant white tool cart with a butcher block top as an island and I love it. I’m currently getting rid of the stuff I just don’t use. I get overwhelmed because I have just a regular size room as a craft room. It is nice though because it’s like a sunroom so the walls are windows basically. Thanks for the tour! I feel your pain! I am about a day away from finishing unpacking and organizing my craft room. We also just moved. I was able to get the IKEA 71” Kallax unit. I added drawers and doors to allow me to hide everything out of site. I used 2 (so far) of the tall Alex drawer units. I just need the tables and a corner desk unit. I can’t wait until it is done and I am rested up enough to use my amazing new space! Thanks for the organization tips! I completely understand the difficulty with getting rid of Sizzix dies. I did it but it was neither fun nor easy! I’ve also been collecting for 30 years. So much stuff!

Hi Karen - I am just starting into the move process and so appreciate this video. I too will be downsizing room size which is such a challenge. I know I need to get rid of some things, but wow where do you start?! We will move once into a very small house while our farm is being sold, and then build a larger house as our "Forever" home. Lots of things will be left in storage for 12 - 18 months however long it takes. I'm stressed, but so appreciate your video!!

Amazing craft room Karen! So many things to choose from! How do you decide what you want to use for your projects? I got myself that same 12x12 printer several months ago & I love it! One of my goals this year is to learn how to design my own papers. I am curious, though. What paper/cardstock do you use for printing your papers? That is the one thing I'm struggling with, trying to find a nice paper/cardstock to print my digitals on. Thank you so much for inviting us in to see your amazing scrap room!

Thanks so much Julia! Sorry I missed your question and I'm so late with answering. I just found out that I could filter all of the youtube comments and just see the comments with questions. I usually decide on what to use for a project based on the photos or a particular inspiration (a KZfaq hop, Challenge, or Class that I'm participating in), a new product that I just purchased that I'm excited about. I've always wanted to design my own paper too, also embellishments, stencils, cut files, (just everything ... lol). The paper that I use to print 12x12 patterned paper may really surprise you and it is absoutely fantastic. My friend Judy found this paper and told me about it and I couldn't believe how good it was because it was the least expensive paper out of all the ones I tried. It's the 12x12 White Cardstock from "The Paper Studio" sold by Hobby Lobby. You can purchase it online if you don't have a Hobby Lobby close by and they frequently put "The Paper Studio" on sale for 40% or 50% off, so wait for the sale. The regular price is $16.99 for 100 sheets of 12x12 cardshock. www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Paper-Cardstock/Solid-Cardstock-Packs/Cardstock-Paper-Pack/p/80927043?queryId=8175d69ff097de74d61e4525fb26deb6 Hope this helps! Wow, I think this room is absolutely amazing!!!😄❤️👍🏼 I can’t believe how much you have accumulated?! I had a lot of stuff in my craft room before I moved in February. I did get rid of a lot of stuff, some of it I wish I did not get rid of! But it is what it is. I am definitely going to be watching a lot of your videos because you do such a amazing job!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful room and closet! Your whole home is beautiful! I also wanted to mention that you did a fabulous job, painting your dog, it’s coming out really really good! I do have a QUESTION??? I just got back into scrapbooking and I am wondering where the best place is to find alphabet stickers/thickers? I have one more.QUESTION?? do you store your matching a Ephemera, enamel dots, and washi ect with your scrapbooking kits? I would love to know how you do that!! Thank you so much again for such an amazing tour, it was perfect!😄❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks so much! I can't' believe how much stuff I've accumulated either ... lol I picked up a lot of my thickers from Tuesday Morning, Hobby Lobby and Joann's. Tuesday Morning is closing all their stores but you might try the other stores when they have their stickers on sale. If I have a scrapbooking collection, then I do store the ephemera, stickers, enamel dots, etc with the collection. For the washi tape, I make a reference card using some clear acetate and include that with the collection and then I store the washi tape in another place in my craft room. I have another video on my channel where I talked about organizing scrapbooking collections. Here's a link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ir1korJe1LC8np8.html. I also shared the washi tape reference cards in a recent video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/et2Yiq5mzMjUl5c.html. Hope this helps! 🤗

@@YesPleasePapercrafts thank you so much for getting back to me! Unfortunately, we don’t have a Tuesday mornings around here. But I can check hobby lobby and JoAnns. sometimes I wonder if I even need to buy alphabet stickers because I have so many different Alphabet die cuts. I guess I’ll just play it by ear. I did recently buy a lot of Echo Park kits, I’m still waiting for three boxes!! Lol and I ordered more doodle bug, I love that company! I’m going to check out more of your videos, after I finish writing to you! You have great videos and you’re so organized! Especially after the move! it took me over three months to get my craft room pretty much organized! Because I have tons and tons of stamps for card making. Hopefully after I finish organizing all of my scrapbooking paper, I will be ready to start! Lol I think I am just as addicted to organizing as I am with crafting!! Thanks so much again! I’m so glad I found you and your channel!😄🩷👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎉🎉🎉

Sorry I missed your question and I'm so late with answering. I just found out that I could filter all of the youtube comments and just see the comments with questions. I'm not sure which paper cart you are asking about. If it's the one with my cardstock in the file folders, that is something that I created from a Michael's Recollection Cube Hanging File Drawer and a Rolling Base (which has unforunately been discontinued). If it's the white metal rolling cart with two shelves that also had cardstock ... that one is the Totally Tiffany Paper Cart (also discontinued).

I have links to a lot of the Amazono storage and organization products that I share in my videos. Hope this helps. 🤗

Sorry I missed your question and I'm so late with answering. I just found out that I could filter all of the youtube comments and just see the comments with questions. Those are drawer organizers with silicone linings from Sam's Club. It came in a set of 10 in various sizes. They do not sell them at Sam's Club anymore, but there are similar ones available at Amazon. The one that I can find on Amazon that is similar size to the large bins in my washi drawers are these Clear Plastic Drawer Organizer Sets. There are a lot of different sets you can purchase and you can search around on Amazon for more. The size of the large drawer organizer that I have in my washi drawer is 6" wide x 15" long x 2" deep which is the same size as the largest divider in this set of drawer organizers at Amazon amzn.to/3V5xkZ8. Hope this helps (even though it's really late getting to you).

Thanks Lisa ... I've been scrapbooking and collecting crafting supplies for more than 30 years which is why I have a ton of papercrafting supplies. I retired from my full time job as a Computer Analyst in 2017. Since then, I've turned my papercrafting hobby into a small business with my KZfaq channel. I'm also a Creative Memories advisor and I have a website and online store where I sell custom flair buttons www.YesPleasePaperCrafts.com. I really enjoy papercrafting and I feel very fortunate that I am able to turn my hobby into a business. Thanks so much for watching 😁

So much inventory! I would think it would be hard knowing everything you have. Are you an art major? How did you learn how to do all of the different projects and learn how to work with all the mixed media? I’m so interested in learning how to do different art projects as a hobby
@YesPleasePapercrafts
@YesPleasePapercrafts 8 ай бұрын
Hi Phyllis ... I've been doing papercrafts and collecting paper over the past 30 years or so. Staying organized is the best way to know what you have and I keep an inventory of all my paper pads and paper collections which helps me to find what I need when I'm working on a project. I did study Art in college but as a minor and studied drawing, painting, print making and glass blowing, but I majored in Computer Science 😁 But I learned about scrapbooking and cardmaking from watching KZfaq videos and taking online classes from places like www.onlinecardclasses.com/, Nicole Jones 911, Anna Griffin and PinkFresh Studios Create Events. I think attending art classes can give you a good understanding of art and how to use color and design in projects and I use these concepts for papercrafting as well. Hope this helps. Karen

Sorry I missed your question and I'm so late with answering. I just found out that I could filter all of the youtube comments and just see the comments with questions. When I attended college, I majored in Computer Sciense and minored in Art Studio. I did learn a lot of art concepts in college (drawing, acrylic painting, printing press, glass blowing, watercolor, etc.). I loved art and would have loved to have made that my major but it was easier to find a job with a computer degree. I also signed up for art classes after work (whatever I was interested in) ... I took watercolor classes, oil painting, pottery with the wheel, pottery just painting, jewelry making, etc.. I've always loved creating things and taking classes. If you want to learn, you can check out your local universities because they often have art studio classes in drawing, color theory, painting, etc. that would really help you with papercrafting and scrapbooking. I would also suggest looking in your area for a culture center or a senior citizen center where there are often special programs that are offered that are either free or very affordable for all types of classes. My Mom and my Aunt once took tap dancing and they were in their 60's ... lol. Hope this helps ... so sorry it took me so long to answer your question. Karen 😁😁

Hi there fellow Louisianian. Would you please tell me the difference between the 12 inch trimmer and the 12 inch special edition trimmer? do they both have the guides? i am in bad need of a paper trimmer that wont cut crooked even though I line the paper up correctly. Thank you!
@YesPleasePapercrafts
@YesPleasePapercrafts 11 ай бұрын
The only difference between the special edition 12 inch trimmer and the regular one is the color. Unless you love the color of the special edition one, I would go with the regular 12 inch trimmer because I think it would be easier to use because the base of the trimmer is white and the lines and measurements are all in black. I love my CM 12" trimmer .... it's super easy to use and cuts straight. I have had my trimmer for a couple of years and I'm still using the same blade, however, this trimmer has a Mat Strip and once it gets worn out, you will need to replace the mat strip to cut accurately. I've had to replace the mat strip a few times and the cost is $7.50. www.creativememories.com/12-inch-trimmer-replacement-mat-strip.html. If you don't already have a Creative Memories advisor, here's a link if you would like to shop with me at Creative Memories www.creativememories.com/cm/KarenYagel Hope this helps. Karen 🤗

I'm not sure which cart you are asking about but I hope this information helps to answer your question. I think it would be either the 3-tier cart where I keep all my tools which is the Raskog Cart from Ikea, or the aqua tool chest that was under my table that looks like a mechanics tool chest ... this one I purchased from Home Goods a few years ago. Unfortunately, there was no brand name on the tool chest and I have not seen this availble anywhere online so I was not able to provide any information on it.

Karen, I noticed you weren't using Canon Ink for your TS9521C. Do you ever have any issues with the ink?? I have the same printer but have been hesitant to buy the off brand inks.
@YesPleasePapercrafts
@YesPleasePapercrafts 11 ай бұрын
I have only used generic ink cartridges in my Canon TS9521C and Canon Pixma MX922 printers for the past 7 years or so. I've not had any issues yet and find that they work ok. Some of the generic brands that I've tried from Amazon are E-Z Ink, LxTek, and Office World. I've seen some negative reviews on Amazon and there may be some risk in using a generic brand but I think, for me, the price difference between the generic ink cartridges and the geniune Canon ink cartridgs is worth the risk.

Sorry I missed your question and I'm so late with answering. I just found out that I could filter all of the youtube comments and just see the comments with questions. I have purchased off brand inks for my Canon printer from Amazon including EZ-Ink, DOREINK, LxTek, etc. and I've not had any issues. I have several friends that also have this printer and use the off brand inks from Amazon and they have not had any issues. It's always a risk using off brand products, but considering the cost of the Canon inks compared with the off brand inks, I'm willing to take the chance. Hope this helps.

I also have some enamel dots for collections that I keep separately so that I can remember to use it with that collection and also I keep the Gina Marie Enamel dots in the original packaging on the cards ... they are so pretty, I can't cut them up.
