Not gonna lie man. As much as I like the tutorial style of video you usually do, there is something so peaceful and pleasant about just watching you work in real time with no words (your son in the background doesn't count. He's part of the ambient noise). Like the workbench video you did, that was peaceful to watch too.

@@BobbyLewis For real! Its not like most of us can do any of this stuff anyway lol. I'm good with just listening to a saw and watching it cut perfect, satisfying lines vs listen to some squeaking hipster, drone on about festool products. Less talk, more saw.

First of all, hey fellow Michigander! Second of all, I loved the no-music in this video. I always enjoy your videos, but I'm usually far more drawn in by woodworking videos with no music. They really convey the sense of peace I get from woodworking, and I feel like it fits your very detail and technique oriented style so well. Keep up the excellent work, as your content regularly inspires me.

Nice work. Typically japanese hammers, excluding the cheap ones, don't have wedges fit in the heads. Just compress the wood fibers on the 'tenon' with a hammer and whack it in. I have a few hammers from Hiroki, Tenryu, Kozaburo, etc that haven't loosened yet.

Lovely looking handle. It does look like you might have installed the head upside down. Most good gennos have a taper in the mortise, which is why wedges aren’t necessary. Typically the makers mark is facing the handle. That will put the taper in the right direction.
