One of the most ridiculous narratives we've been subjected to in British boxing of the last few years is that Bivol vs Richards was a close fight. Richards is a nice guy, good fighter, has improved a lot, fought well and put in a creditable performance and is a tough warrior and I like him but I'm sorry the fight was not close at all. He won 2 or 3 rounds or 4 absolute max if you want to be very generous to him. He was hitting arms and gloves all night and Bivol hadn't fought in 19 months going into the fight. Hence why both Richards and Hearn said before the fight that if anytime was the time to beat Bivol it was now. Those two close cards were an absolute disgrace. That's the second Hearn fighter Bivol has been stitched up by the judges, Canelo obviously being the other one.
