I think that the main difference between those two is related to psychology than to skill & that is why we see the difference in their results. Both of them are total grappling wizards. Gordon is putting a hell lot of pressure on himself and he is one of those very rare cases of people who thrives the most in high stress environment - this actually changes a lot. Craig for sure loves competing but first of all he looks like he wants to have fun doing it & this is his main motivation. You can get that listening to his podcast & seeing his rolls. He is more like a scientist & experimentator yet he gets that there is a life outside of bjj. There is nothing wrong with that, but I think it is much harder to stay motivated with this approach in long term.

@@Copemaxx think it has to a little bit. Craig doesn’t seem to take a lot serious, but I gotta believe that deep down loosing to someone 3 times is hard. You can make excuses as to why you lost once, maybe even twice. But 3? Your just outclassed at that point. Even though he did almost have Gordon with that armbar. But he still ended up losing. Which like I said is amazing that someone like Craig can be best 3 times by the same guy. Steroids or not Gordon stands at the top of the no GI sport.
