Caitlin is a player who was taught the fundamentals of Basketball in Iowa and excelled. Pass, assist, score and shoot the 3-pointer very well. It makes her damn good. Imagine if all coaches taught these basic skills and kids caught on. We would all be great and better teammates...which according to many she doesn't have. The WNBA has an uptick in interest and viewers because she has been good. So now all the players that play well will have eyes on them too and get that appreciation.

Clark is going to be a target all season long! Whoever guards her is going to try and shut her down completely just so they can say she was overhyped and overrated! After just one game they are already criticizing her after a 20-point game in her debut! Clark will turn it on as the season progresses!

That's the best comment this season. Making Caitlin the hated player because she's getting more attention just stirs the pot and more fan support for her and anger in the WNBA teams, but more fans will come out to cheer her or on the other hand boo her. Either way both sides will see new life for the WNBA

AS I OFTEN SAY, "PEOPLE LIE...NUMBERS DON'T": The TOP 3 highest-rated, most watched NCAA women's tournament games ever, ALL feature....Caitlin Clark. That is not a coincidence. IOWA played a game vs DePaul in Kinnick Stadium--an outdoor football stadium--and filled it with nearly 56,000 fans. That, too, is not coincidence. Nor was it because of anyone else. It was because of Caitlin Clark. People lie. Numbers don't. Nor do numbers see race or care about feelings. So huge is Caitlin Clark's impact, that it has actually been studied, dissected and quantified in dollars. Even the DRAFT drew millions of viewers. Even her 2 PRESEASON games BOTH broke attendance records. Caitlin's debut regular season game--last night--was the most watched WNBA game in 23 years. It drew 2.13 million viewers. THAT is the Caitlin Clark Effect. By contrast, the reigning WNBA champion Aces vs Mercury game--also played last night--drew a measly 464,000 viewers. My question is: "What happened to all of the so-called "fans" who now claim they've been watching and supporting the WNBA for years and years? Is this laughable turnout what we can expect from Angel's "millions of social media followers" which I keep hearing about--when the Chicago Sky plays? See? Race doesn't factor in here. People root for and support whom they please. All that matters is the bottom line. Numbers. Revenue. Nike recognized CLEARLY that their best target was Caitlin Clark. Nothing personal. Just business. Haters can cope or try to split hairs all they want. Caitlin isn't the great wht hope. She is the great blk hope. She has arrived to take this patheetic, predominantly blk league--off the welfare rolls. And she is off to a great start. As I said, numbers do not lie. And if you think they're crying NOWWW....just wait until Caitlin's Nike shoe launches and outsells BOTH Aja Wilson and Angel Reese--combined. The amount of tears will rival the Thailand tsunami...stay tuned!....

Do t think it’s a small percentage when the majority of the WNBA is black & LGBTQ and they feel that Caitlin is getting all this attention just because she is white and now that they are giving her all this attention they are getting evaluated and they don’t think it’s fair. They feel that they should have been the one to have been in her shoes and feel that they can now use all the attention she is getting to go after her as hard as possible to show her up thinking and believing that if they shut her down they will be able to take that fanbase and attention from the media and be the one that moves the needle instead but all they are going to do is get CC fanbase to turn on the WNBA and see them as aggressive and hateful players especially if they are a part of the other race or LGBTQ faction of the league. Especially when Caitlin has since coming into the league not once said that she was going to come in and dominate but need time to actually adjust and get used to the more physical and aggressive style of play; needing to give herself time and grace to get used to the more advanced play. Yet all she has gotten since her first game is people all but saying that she has been over hyped and is overrated. Putting her down nonstop and all but enjoying rubbing in the fact that she is struggling yet not taking in the fact that she still is the one on the court making the most points out of all the players and still being able to make her logo 3 shots. They are not taking into account the fact that because she is the number 1 pick she goes to the worst team in the league which means that her team needed help the most and has the worst winning record out of all the teams that are dominating in terms of defense and offensive scoring that have been together dominating the court year after year which is why teams like the Aces and the Sun are the ones in the playoffs and winning championships year after year compared to the Fever who hasn’t made the playoffs since 2016. Who now has two back to back number 1 picks and the year before that had the number 2 pick. They have also only gotten to play and build chemistry for only two weeks. They haven’t had the time to even figure out which plays works, where they like to be on the court when they want the ball thrown to them to make a basket in the paint, work on screens and defensive plays let alone learn each other enough to be able to just instinctively know where everyone is at all times to be able to just be able to throw and catch the ball when it comes because you have built up that chemistry and trust in each other. Plus this is a team of mostly rookies not vets compared to the team the Suns who they played for their first game who is nothing but veterans and the best in the league at defense. Yet even knowing that Caitlin was still able to get in 20 points when people were saying before she got into the WNBA that she wouldn’t be able to even make 15 points a game. Being able to score 20 points a game makes her rank in the top 10 list of highest scoring players in the WNBA. No one is also looking at her teammates who also had a bad night and didn’t do their end to help out. Everyone has been going on and on about how once Caitlin gets to the WNBA it’s going to be so much easier for her because she is going to be with so much more talented players that she isn’t going to have to do everything like she did with her team at Iowa and yet here she is on a team in which they aren’t helping her to do their fair share of the load. On her Iowa team she at least had Kate, Molly and Gabby to help run up the score with 3s and even layups for 2s and even Hannah was better in the paint then Boston seems to be doing with only getting 4 points and 6 rebounds against the sun. She was the number 1 pick and rookie of the year last year but this year she is not looking like the player she was last year. Don’t know if it’s because in the off season she didn’t manage to upkeep her training and was just doing her corespondent work that she is now so out of practice and conditioning that it’s going to take her a while to get back up to speed and yet no one is saying a word negative about her performance and just attacking Caitlin. This is a team game and if it’s only going to be on Caitlin she is going to have to once again be needing to score 35 to 40 points a game in order for the fever to be winning consistently if her teammates don’t step it up. They need to be spending all their time even days they have free in the gym working on plays to learn each other’s movements and work to make screens for each other. Also work on the turnovers and fouls. They need to learn how to work to make that work to their advantage…Caitlin needs to start with getting who every is defending her in foul trouble by doing layups first so that way they back off of her enough that she is then able to move a bit more free on the court opening her up to pass and shoot easier. They need to work on so much that there just isn’t enough time that it’s going to take time and many more games before they start to look like a team that has it together. They also need a coach that is going to be focused on building morale and not always so negative. I have yet to hear their coach give any positive feedback to the players or media and let me tell you sports is every bit just as much a mental game as it is physical. To have a coach that is constantly negative is going to bring down the team and make it so you don’t build a culture that will be able to win and have a team wanting to come to play ball and win. They might need to look to getting a different coaching staff and head coach before the end of the season. It’s sometimes better to rip the bandaid off early then waiting before it’s too late. I’m not with everyone else saying that CC doesn’t have things in her game that she needs to work on and needing to grow as a player, every player does. I’m more for the coach that is going to be positive and fighting for their players and you can see that what she is doing is only dragging the players down which is making for players that are confused, and not wanting to be there. More so until they also realize they have a unprecedented opportunity to build a team around a player that can change their franchise to new heights things also will not be getting any better then last year. This coach already is trying to take a player and mold her into the player that is of the old style of players and make her into something that she isn’t. She isn’t even playing the position that she used to play and that right there is the problem…it’s Kim Mulkey from LSU all over again with HVL. She tried to do that With HVL and look how that turned out for them? She is going to end up costing not just the fevers best chance at getting to the playoffs this year but also the WNBAs best chance at gaining popularity and most of all destroying a generational player because I can easily see Caitlin saying that the WNBA just isn’t it for me and quitting. She has made more then enough money to stop playing, get married and go off into the sunset…so hopefully the Fever management knows what they are doing and doesn’t blow this.

Many may choose to deflect or ignore it, but no one paid attention to the WNBA until a rivalry between Black and White players that highlights deeply rooted issues in America. Without this rivalry, the WNBA would have remained unnoticed. I bet WNBA owners are grateful for this rhetoric that has boosted their viewership, though it reflects society's simplicity in accepting whatever is marketed to them.

I'm a nobody and I could coach that team better than Sides is! But it's not all on Sides. I see a lot of Lazy un coachable players on this team. They didn't get the number 1 pick two years in a row for being good. They sucked and after 2 no. 1 picks in the draft they still suck. I know how good cc is my eye's are on the other players. I see ladies that don't play good D to lazy to sprint down court to create easy fast break baskets. That is on the coach. She needs to get her players to hustle down the court on every position for an advantage. It's fun to watch, easy baskets. more points, more wins. This alone would make me a better coach than Sides! They are not ready for CC's passes! Half of CC's turnovers are great passes that go right through their hands or zip right by their heads because their to lazy to be ready for the ball. Evan the passes they do catch but miss a layup cause they weren't ready for the pass is lazy. Every thing lazy is on the coach! CC can't carry this team by herself. The coach needs to light a fire under the rest of the team's asses or their going to drag her and CC down with them.

Tarausi =470,000 viewers and that was with them following directly after Clark. Meaning over 1.6 million viewers that watched Clark’s team play said “yeah , no thank you. @christopheryochum3602

Man oh man ... the point about more hating on Caitlin affecting people's responses in wanting Caitlin to bowl them over really struck home with me. I keep seeing "Taurasi was right" and "Welcome to the league rookie" comments and more hurtful ones, a commenter on a video calling her a fraud. You get the picture. Set aside that the Fever players are trying to catch up to her speed of play (missing passes and not getting down-court fast enough on transitions) and that the coach has pooh-poohed the logo 3's and hang-dribbling (as described by Trae Young), she has to shake off her new-car status. What I mean is, ever gotten a brand-new car and were told not to take it up to 60 until after you've driven it around a bit? Caitlin is a new car; wait till she learns what she needs these first few games. Yeah, I'd love to see her make 100 points. :)

Caitlin might need to worry about sabotage within her own team. There’s some veterans that shouldn’t still be there they are multiple time losers year after year and now she’s coming in and getting all of the attention, starting rookie and a shoe deal, commercials, and a documentary of her journey. All the fans are there for her, all the media wants to talk to her and everyone thinks they should fire the coach because of her. What do they have to lose if they screw her over? No one expects them to win anyways. We shall see and I would watch for it.

In my opinion, Aja wilson is right because if Caitlin Clark was black would she be getting all this attention. The answer is No and if y'all say yes y'all be lying and y'all know the truth. Y'all need to stop trying to deny what people of color see and feel and start seeing the truth and stand behind us and see ya I understand how it may seem that why and start to help others not to feel like they are being overlooked.

This is a disingenuous take from people who want a slice of the victimhood pie lol.. (to each their own).. Like it’s OK to acknowledge special consideration for standing out.. it’s much harder on the front end to stand out by looking different.. CC, Tiger, Eminem, Williams sisters, Bird, Jeremy Lin, Obama, etc.. but once you break through and do something of note, then yes - you get more attention and acclaim when you look different.. there are brand new marketing angles that open up.. there’s nothing wrong with admitting that lol.. CC is a phenomenon as a player.. but holistically, part of the phenomenon is that she’s not “who you’d expect” to be excelling where she’s excelling.. and she’s opening the game up to people who weren’t paying attention before.. yes, some tune in because of “representation” purposes.. and to me, that’s a positive.. it was a positive with the Williams sisters (and I acknowledge that they brought a lot more viewers to the sport because of their background).. Eminem sold more records than anyone, in part, because of what he looked like.. yes, he also raps extremely well and chose an off-script subject matter.. but it’s OK to admit your advantages.. The fact that you’re bringing it up - more so than the actual game itself - points to the fact that the sport/art doesn’t exist in a vacuum.. more people will watch your video for the “cultural” commentary than the basketball commentary.. so you’re kinda proving the point.. Personally, I love everyone, including CC! And I think that she’s in a unique position to uplift the WNBA in a way it hasn’t been before.. and not just because she shoots the 3-ball well lol.. Her look IS an advantage.. but it’s not the entirety of her existence or her appeal.. admitting that doesn’t take away from her skills or personality or class that she carries herself with.. It’s so odd how uncomfortable that makes people to just admit it lol.. who doesn’t want an advantage?!?! I’m sure CC’s bank account and agents aren’t complaining lol..

There are bus loads of Minority women who play basketball and although PHENOMINAL AT IT, the typical consensus has always been that it's "Normal" and phenomenal black players are just shoveled along side the rest of the team... with what is considered "Normal" as in another black girl who can shoot a basketball or run fast. Clark is not the only person who has a sold out game the games tonight are sold out also and their next games. The acting like Clark is the reason why all these games are being sold out. She has to only wish she will become half of the player that Aja has become. The Chicago Sky games are sold out but not televised. So what is the excuse now Caitlin Clark didn't put those people in those seats but she's getting credit for it.
