Hi Wakeywhodat, You can have either 13 mm or 10 mm chain mounted. 13 mm is used for tougher clearance. smaller trees, coarser shrubs and so on.10mm is used for lawn clearance. The wear of the chain depends very much on the terrain it enters. We supply the chains either as lengths or in 50 meter packs.

Better whip out of them and less wear on the shaft possibly. Be breaking shearbolts /pins every few mins if that had a blade with the stuff they’re cutting
