I have a Westie that TPLO on her left leg3 years ago. She now has a what look likes a tear on the other leg and is 7 years old. Is there any guidelines on whether she would have to do TPLO on the new injury or could she do the latter suture method on the new injury. I hear the recover is easier with the suture technic. Great videos!

Our dog has been diagnosed with a CCL rupture. He was diagnosed with a drawer test and confirmed with x-rays. Our vet wants to do a CBLO Surgery but has also offered a Lateral Suture Surgery. He is a 9.5 year old Lhasa-Apso Poodle Cross and weighs around 30-31lbs. He's a pretty relaxed dog - low activity most of the time (1-1.5 hrs slow walks each day sniffing and stopping lots and occasionally he will have a quick run around for 5 mins). He has never consistently held his leg up fully and has always toe touched bearing a little weight and on occasion will bear weight on that leg whilst peeing. Cost is not an issue. He is insured but I would not want to put him through surgery unless it was an absolute necessity. After reading about CBLO's I am reluctant to rush into surgery and would like to try Conservative Management. He has an orthopaedic bed and I work from home so can keep his activity restricted. We are not allowing him to jump on/off furniture and are carrying him upstairs. We are giving high strength joint supplements, are implementing weight management, are using activities/games to keep him mentally engaged and taking him out in a dog stroller so he can get fresh air and use his senses. He has been going to Hydrotherapy once every two weeks (temporarily stopped whilst we restrict his activity) and canine massage therapy every 6 weeks for the past few years as a preventative/supplementary treatment as he gets older. In your opinion would you consider him a good candidate for conservative management?
