This time we can hear how Cortex Theme has a different tone than his previous version. While CB1 has a serious and slow dark tone, this is more like a confrontation where the end can be a disaster for the world and you are on the verge of the hope to save it. Music is saying that you must win this time and quickly before Cortex reaches his goal. Magnificent sensation...

+ManDude And yet if you beat him, he doesn't seem to lose the crystals. :P I always wondered whether he had actually got the crystals or Crash was just super pissed at him for being tricked. The sinister laugh kinda gives a hint though.

The only thing I really LOVED about this boss fight in the N. Sane Trilogy is that they made it so that it makes sense. In the original, you just chase Cortex and defeat him pointlessly. In the N. Sane Trilogy, Cortex actually runs away with a Crystal, so you actually HAVE to chase him so he doesn't get away with it. That touch changed everything, honestly.

I feel like it made sense to chase him in the original, so that he doesn't escape, but the addition of him having the master crystal definitely added more stakes and tension to the fight and also explains what happened to the master crystal at the end of the game.

Jesse Karhu n gin is the hardest boss in crash I've played so far. And that's both versions crash 2 and 3. 3 is harder though.

@CF97FOREVER2 agreed, i liked the idea that you could fail if you took too long, but still it wasnt a proper fight, he just ran away from you. i think there should have been a proper boss fight before this one, and in this one hes trying his desperate last attempt.

I really enjoyed the final boss even though it wasn’t really fair, I think the Idea of him running away gives a sense of urgency to catch him, sorta like sonic 3 Final boss.

@Jack Bat I'm surprised that there's no love for Brandon O'Brien's voice for cortex. Honestly, I'm not really a big fan of Clancy Brown's "accent" he gave to cortex (I didn't mention lex Lang, cuz he honestly is using the same type of accent as Clancy Brown's cortex, just a tiny bit more high pitched.), as it honestly sounds a tiny bit... cliche somehow.

One of my favourite boss themes ever composed. Say what you will about the hilariously easy boss that Cortex was in Crash 2, it still doesn't change the fact that the setting and music were totally on point. It really gives the game that climactic feeling, and I just love how consistent the instrumentation of Cortex's themes are from Crash 1-3. It was really clever how subtle the nuances in each theme were.

@@UltraCoolSuperOne97 Indeed, being a lot more manipulative and managing to convince crash into believing that they're on the same side, despite already having shown his true colors to crash in the first game. Since he can't really beat crash by fighting, he had to use his wit to outsmart him, which almost worked too.

It would have also been better if the mines you crashed into would actually kill Crash, instead of just slowing him down. What's the point of having them in there when they're just as weak as rocks?

Its boss chase cortex has the crystals and you have to chase him down before he gets away its not a fight i think the level was made to chase down cortex and not fight him and when cortex did get to the end you fail but theres no bad ending you just have to chase him again.

Man I remember first time I played this boss battle as a kid of about 5 or so, I wasn't all that good at the jetpack controls but I loved it. THIS level on it's own made me master the controls. And it's music made me stick with it as it got me thinking "I HAVE to stop Cortex!"

The sad thing is, this boss could've worked if they'd changed a few things. First, make it so that while the rocks slow you down, the mines kill you like Nitro boxes do. Secondly, make it so that Cortex actually travels as fast as Crash, if not just a little bit faster so that, Thirdly, have Cortex occasionally turn around to shoot at you, making it so you have to dodge the blast and close the distance at the same time in order to spin Cortex. Finally, make the whole area longer to accompany this rockin' soundtrack. Give us the length deserving not only of this track but of a proper final boss. Make these changes and I wonder if this could be considered a good final boss.

I personally loved the boss... Not every boss has to be some final epic fight or you escaping from villain or escaping before time runs out... Instead, YOU'RE the one tracking the villain down before time runs out. Love it tbh.

Not sure about your point... Yep, they started making new episodes of DW in 2005, but the series originally started in 1963 and Roger Delgado was in it in the early seventies. Way before Crash games, then. But I do realize it is a bit of a long shot : D

@KaosKontroler Very brave of you to step up and express your liking for the newer crash games, not that I agree nor disagree. I think the idea's are okay/great, it's the execution that I find disappointing. The only thing I honestly hate is what is done to 80% of the characters in the games. From a major swing to their personalities, (N.Gin, Aku Aku) to a great difference in design (Uka Uka, Crash) or even BOTH (TINY)!!!

I mean that Crash Bandicoot, in my opinion, has a somehow magical touch in it (or at least the first three games have it) and I think that`s the thing that makes it to be one of the the best games ever made, and in my opinion, beating easily almost all other video game franchises there are. I`m not saying that other franchises would be bad so i don`t mean to insult anyone. Remeber, THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.
