You fixed the issue with having to repeat half of the main level after a timeline level and reintegrated N. Verted levels so that they are a completely optional way to collect the same gems as in the normal levels rather than additional gems that require playing them for completion. I respect that.

Toys for Bob should recognize the incredible work Crash fans have done. Congratulations to the developers who made this mod one of the best experiences of playing Crash Bandicoot.

i would've vastly prefered literally everything you did in this mod over what we got. I play a lot of difficult games but Crash 4 was not only difficult, but unfair, drawn out and needlessly tedious. Thank you, i might actually bother to 100% it. I love platformers but this was a chore to play

I'm so surprised with how many people just didn't even play the game before this mod. I understand that 100 percenting the game is very frustrating but I thought the regular level design was incredible. Challenge was always a part of Crash's core design value. On top of that, modern mode made it so that players were not punished for failing because you can retry as many times as possible and it won't set you back to the beginning. While I do agree, making N.Verted levels required for full completion (amongst a few other annoying filler), things like Flashback tapes, time trials, and perfect run trophies all felt like a really fun extra challenge. I think part of it is up to us as players not to overexert ourselves, or put unnecessary pressure on ourselves to beat everything. The only thing locked behind those extra achievements are a few skins and 1 minute "secret" cutscene that's been online now for years. That all being said, I'm glad this mod exists so players can cut out the extra stuff they want so that they can play to full completion. But I hope that if Toy's for Bob gets another chance at making a new Crash game, they don't try to remove level design difficulty. Or optional challenge modes. Rather, I'd say things like having to repeat a level so many times for full completion -- that can definitely go XD

I've never fully completed Crash 4, because doing so quickly started to become frustrating and/or tedious for all the issues you've addressed in this mod (and that's coming from someone who loves Crash 4 otherwise and has completed every other console game in the series). I very much want to give this mod a try someday, because judging from the trailer, I don't think I'd ever replay Crash 4 without it, and I actually feel compelled to complete it under the rules you've implemented. Kudos for the fantastic work on display!

I was already happy with the fact that you tied the costumes to the wumpaa fruits instead of the gems. Then you just casually threw in the fact that critically hidden crates are gone now, and I suddenly became SO excited for this mode. I would ABSOLUTELY play this version from now on if I had a good PC

As someone who 106% the game, this is a welcome addition. I am still happy I surpassed the challenge TFB imposed on me though!

Crash 4 is a great game but I think it relies on bit too much padding, luckily most of it is ( sort of) optional. Thank you for making this mod.

Some suggestions I have to make this an even better mod: -Make the life crates for the other characters have their face on it instead of crash -Give cortex uka uka (even if it doesn't make sense story wise) -Have N-verted mode be a new game plus with slightly remixed level design with few checkpoints and no aku crates with the player having to actually engage with the gimmick of each world such as needing to spin paint in the pirate world to even be able to stand on platforms or having enemies and platforms move faster in the marsh world. N-verted mode was a cool idea, but it was just executed poorly, and I think this might be a better way of implementing it. (Also since its just a new game plus it would just be for the pros just like the highest tier of time relics and would not be required for completion and maybe just throw in a skin for 208% completion) -Have the aiming on cortexs blaster, tawnas hook, and dingos vacuum shooting tnt have a bigger lock on especially in 3d sections -rework the multiplayer battle modes to be split screen and be focused on reaching the end of a level with the most amount of score from killed enemies, wumpa fruit, and boxes similar to mario 3d worlds multiplayer -Have a more animated and lively main menu similar to the classics. That is really everything I could possibly think of and even then a reworked battle mode and N-verted mode could be seen as overkill so if that happens or not I will still be happy with this amazing rework that takes a almost perfect game and turns it into one and then some. I wish you the best of luck.

This is amazing! All of these sound like great quality of life improvements without changing the essence of Crash 4! I only have the Switch version, so I unfortunately won't be able to play this mod, but just wanted to thank you anyways for such a cool mod!

This sounds absolutely amazing! It's like a checklist of all the things I wished were different in Crash 4. I actually did a playthrough (maybe like 6 months ago) where I only collected the wumpa gems, below 3 deaths gems, and all the N'Verted gems. Just so I'd have that save to start with for all future playthroughs, so I'd never have to bother with the N'Verted mode or the useless bloat gems again. But this mod seems much, much better than that plan! All the other changes sound great too, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new crate puzzles/challenges and hidden gems - I'm definitely going to give it a shot soon. You're a legned, Rayrobi!

Just the fact N. Verted mode is just another way of playing the level while still being a way of getting the same items as in Normal Mode, rather than just being double the stuff to get, already cuts off so much of the bloat.

This looks freaking incredible and fixes almost all the issues I have with the game. If Aku Akus carry between levels, we'd be super golden.

A lot of these fixes and improvements are amazing, well done job to the team! 👏 I was hoping the N. Verted staged would have received some additional level design changes and /or tweaks to differentiate them from the main levels some more, but that's outside of the scope of this mod, or it'll be in a later update.

The game was clearly made for all those "no hit, all collectibles, fastest time" KZfaq vidoes and not much anyone else, it's really over the top. I got them all, but makes me wonder if the mod still triggers achievements.

I think this is a better improvement from the previous version. Purple gem automatically makes this good. I do think you should've left the gem rewards for wumpas as they made stacking wumpas satisfying. Could be their own collectables like "rare" wumpas but I doubt its, its easy to suggest something than actually going into the code to modify them. Excellent vision regardless

It would be nice if some levels still had a get all the boxes without dying once gem, specifically the levels where you earn a coloured gem just like crash 1

I never even played most of the game on my PS4 just because the game felt odd from the N-Sane trilogy playthrough. Not sure if this fixes the core game feel at all, but its nice to see that the game feeling off isnt just a me thing. Though the feeling could have been that the crash gameloop isn't interesting anymore. I tried to play N-Sane on my laptop getting performance issues and I barely played my 2nd playthrough on switch. I know the games are great, but it could be that I have played higher level platformers causing simpler stuff like crash to not hit the way I like. After all, I love Pseudoregalia because of how smooth and freeing it is. Plus my experience with it isn't finished with all the tech and alternative paths I haven't taken yet. Crash on the other hand doesn't feel as expansive. I don't know though. I still really like Crash, but I need more reason to play it now that I have hit a lot of the gameplay's mental and physical boundaries.

It's about time! I felt like this game was too frustrating to enjoy, had to force myself to finish it, and by then no interest in seeing the side content or replaying

The only things i deem absolutely necessary are the optional inverted levels and the removal of redundant collectables. Everything else ranges from slightly helpful to planely making the game easier which i don't quite agree with

some of these changes I like, like the hidden crate changes & fairer completion requirements, but others just look like crash 4 for baby's, if I get the mod can I equip certain elements & not others
