It’s great to see someone on KZfaq giving this a proper analysis. Too often do I see prominent KZfaqrs finally mention this gem of a game, only to show footage of themselves playing it like it’s Mario Kart.

Underrated video. This game was/is amazing, I feel that people are a bit too critical about the microtransactions, because they are cosmetics only. They gave us really good original new maps for free; that's huge! The biggest flaw of the game is just how bad the online experience is. I am a little jealous you got everything unlocked from pit stop(?). I got burned out during rustland grand prix, so I don't have the last 2 decals...

Drive thru danger was such a great sendoff for the game and one of my all time favourite Crash tracks. I love how the music pays homage to multiple eras of Crash. You have the Xylophone and bass rundowns that were used regularly in Crash 1 and 2 and CTR, the Trumpets/Brass section is very Nitro Cart and the more experimental synth, drums and electric guitar parts are very Wrath of Cortex/Titans inspired. It just needed a little Spyralmouth style acopella section to represent Twinsanity/Tag Team Racing. :P

I'm still of the opinion that microtransactions ruined this game, and Activision being dishonest and patching them in 1 month after launch has convinced me to never buy another of their games. But it's always nice to see that at least some people really, really enjoyed the game regardless, and that the actual people developing the game put their heart into it regardless of the marketing model.

Sewer speedway is when I gave up on the remake. Physics completely off.

That track is disappointing, but not a reason to give up on the remake. I think it mostly plays better than the original but Sewer speedway is an exception, it's bad.
