Well, Teslas and electric cars in general have about 25 times less chance of catching fire in fact, vs ICE vehicles. Misinformation is doing wonders lately.

Actually, statistics are more important. Fires on normal cars are more frequent and don't make it to the news, as it occurs every day. In fact hundreds of them around the world. Therefore nobody cares. Here are some actual statistics. Just 2 examples. If you search you will find more: 1) www.theguardian.com/business/2023/nov/20/do-electric-cars-pose-a-greater-fire-risk-than-petrol-or-diesel-vehicles#:~:text=It%20found%20there%20was%20a,for%20internal%20combustion%20engine%20cars. 2) www.kbb.com/car-news/report-evs-less-likely-to-catch-fire-than-gas-powered-cars/ And a small part of it if you're bored to read those: - The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency similarly found 68 fires per 100,000 cars of all types but just 3.8 fires per 100,000 EVs or hybrids - Australia’s Department of Defence researched the same question and found that “there was a 0.0012% chance of a passenger electric vehicle battery catching fire, compared with a 0.1% chance for internal combustion engine cars.” And regarding what you mentioned about news: So why do most of us believe EVs are more likely to catch fire? Probably because when they do, it gets reported in the news. The news no longer bothers to report most car fires.
