Some sound advice Darren Hope it all works out and we get to see the BMW where she belongs, on the road and being enjoyed. Shame about what happened but the main thing is everyone is all ok.

Did you know if no one is hurt you can legally leave the accident without giving any details, providing you have a valid reason (dr appointment ect) you then have 48 hours to report said accident and provide all the details needed. Oh and if it's not your fault use an accident management company as you said they make everything so much easier at least they dis for me

Repair all day long who is the third party’s insurer are they handling the claim and guess put you in a car in double quick time?

Thank you and yes they did put us in a car very swiftly indeed. In all fairness to the insurer; they’ve handled it impeccably! We will wait to see the outcome of the repair estimate which looks to be circa £6-7k at present.

You're not required to carry any details of insurance

When asked to produce you need a valid insurance certificate or at minimum your policy details. It’s always been that way and is still a requirement as per the govt website

Are you sure it’s a legal requirement to carry insurance details ? I drive a lorry for the local authority and I have no idea who they are insured with. Different topic. What’s all this nonsense about rear wiper delete. Surly it does a great job if you use the mirrors ?

The rear wiper delete wasn’t us; we intended to rectify. As for the insurance; it’s always been a requirement to carry a Certificate or at minimum the Policy Number. The Govt website still suggests that it is a Legal Req to carry the certificate. An employer should make available the certificate to their employees as far as we are aware; especially when driving a company vehicle. Hope this helps
