I think most if not all of us were flying with joysticks in this. However, one of the more recent PvP tournimates was won by a keyboard and mouse player.

You can tell he uses sticks cause he doesn’t have the line dragging of mouse

@@CaptainBerks Even with good hitreg, it's way too easy to just boost away to safety whenever shields get low if you're flying conservatively (especially with a 2x S1 shield ship like the Gladius). I honestly hope the TTK doesn't go down too much further with better hitreg because people need time to react and maneuver, I just don't want ships to always easily escape before taking hull damage if they're paying attention. It was hard enough to get through shields and do hull damage in this fight with 2-3 ships coordinating fire... in a 1v1 against a pilot who boosts away when shields get low, you'll run out of fuel before killing them even if your aim and the hitreg are on point.

one thing at a time, before we change mechanics, balancing and optimization must be done. Otherwise things can get pretty broken either too strong or too weak.

@@CaptainBerks Great point about the hit reg. Hopefully fixing the reg is all that’s needed to bring down the time-to-kill to the point that escaping a bad spot is much harder. I like the speed and maneuverability of the ships otherwise.

@@CaptainBerks So I’m not a pro or anything, but that’s not true at all, if you guys I think had actually slowed down a bit you could have ended this a lot faster. Y’all were flying 800+ most of the time, you see it go down to 500 because of those fast turns breaking momentum. Also why you blacking out all the time. If you keep it under 300 for more accuracy and better use of other thrusters you could have killed them fast. Just go beyond that to pursue if really worth or to end them and stuff. Hitreg is super fine the way it is.

Chaff is essentially a smoke cloud full of thermal compounds like magnesium to disrupt heatseeking weaponry, never played the game but thats what it is in real life so i suspect its something similar at least?

Make sure the tractor beam attachment is equipped on the multitool. Your right click should just Aim down the sights of the multitool. Then you hold left click to fire the beam and move items. Then let go of left click and the beam stops and the item falls whereever you placed it.

All shields have a delay before they start recharging. That delay gets reset every time the ship/shield takes damage. Therefor denying the shield the ability to recharge. Hence "Shield Deny".

Every serious pvp'er I've heard speak on this have said they prefer lag pips, when did lead become meta?

@@WhitefoxSpace Since 3.4. And I guarantee if you do a survey. Of every single person you meet. Not people you've heard of. They will tell you they use Lead pips. Because the algorithm that performs the calculation for Lead pips is far more accurate than the one that is use for Lag pips. And as a result Lead pips are far more accurate and or functional. Making Lead pips the meta.! But of course I 100% agree that Lag pips should both be more accurate and effective. Making Lag pips the Meta. And because Lag pip should Target the center of mass of the targeted ship. Even if you don't hit the Lag pip exactly. You should still be hitting part of the targeted ship. Making Lag pips more effective. But No. CIG thought it was a good idea to make Lag pips so much less accurate. That you have to hit the Lag pip reticle exactly in order to be effective at all. So Lead pips are in fact the better choice at this moment in time. So while any serious SC pilot should realize that for all intensive purposes Lag pips should be better. They should also realize that you will in fact Miss more shots on average with Lag pips then you will with Lead pips. It's Bullshit I agree.! And I would say take it up with the Devs. But you can also guarantee that it's like that because they want it like that. So they could give a s*** about your feedback on it. Which has for sure been my experience when bringing it up on Spectrum or the Issue Council. But I hope you found this info helpful.
