If someone mentions "Mirror mirror on the wall" and you haven't watched the movie in a long time, thats what you "remember" it being. This is a really big deal because almost everybody remembers things the same way and then we find out that they were never that way. It's not like a handful of people it's millions and millions of people. I don't say it's a parallel universe but it is a collective memory.

To clarify, The Mandela effect isn't a conspiracy theory, it is a real psychological phenomenon. People, as they tend to do, have then developed theories around it. Which are, of course, mental.
