The aim 9L is a perfectly good missle, where the r60 is absolute trash. I don't see a problem. I play both nations and would take 2 9L over 6 r60 anyday

Just went through the stock grind for the British phantoms to get the gripen and that bullshit upgrade tree makes no sense, you're completely locked out of the missiles that make the phantom usable until the very end and you're forced to research stuff you don't care about to get there lol.

If you're under 2km then just take the L cause you're not flaring it, maybe you can buy some time preflaring but still not a 100% save

@@Randomskeledude*1-1.5km rear aspect or 0.3-0.8km(depends on target speed, the slower it is, the less unflarable range r-73 has) front/side aspect* otherwise it will eat flares like r-60

@user-jy6cn3jy8g I mean it's pretty weird, one time I got a shot from 3.5km and the guy couldn't do shit and on another one it went for flares from 0.5km in a dogfight

@@Randomskeledude because in dogfight he was slow so the flare raised very close behind him so the missile was able to see it and went for the flare, that also can be applied to magic 2, 27T/ET 9L etc, but will work opposite for 9M, AAM3 and Rb74(M)(if you are slow and one of these missiles was launched then you’re already pretty much dead if it will be able to pull into you) Thats because of the one of the patches when gjn added time to raise for all flares which means that if you’re fast it will be raised further behind you than if you’re slow

And basically it will be gripen vs gripen or F-16C vs gripen cause Su-27 is a dogshit in the game compared to F-16C and gripen(actually even to F-15, which also doesn’t feel good in these 16v16 top tier matches)

Change the throttle to 0 and magically the plane will not be hot? R-73 has all the aspects, has more heat signature sensitivity, but the IRRCM adjusts the FOV

cut throttle, flare, and change direction. the seeker shuts off and keeps heading to your last calculated position when it sees flares. so flare before and while you change course.
