Since the other team automatically gets the ball after his freethrow which isn't enough to tie the game, they would still lose. So he was trying to bounce it off the backboard in hopes his team gets the rebound and shoots for 3.

I saw Kyrie Irving do something similar while trying to miss a free throw. He threw it hard off the backboard and it banked in. It shouldn't be hard to just alter your release a little to the right or left. A missed free throw has to hit the rim or it's a turnover.

2 questions for anyone who might know: 1. On plays where a basket is made while inbounding, do the points count, or does another player have to touch it to count? 2. On a ball made on a bounce, if the “shooter” is in 3-pt land, does it count as 3 points, or does the bounce itself have to happen in 3-pt land? I honestly never thought I would be curious about these thing until now.

I think we can all agree that our unintentional shots always go in, but the intentional ones that we try a lot hard for barely do. That's why before games I keep praying for unintentional shots

2:20 (opponent current score 44). First the person controlling the score board was like "is that a point"?!? "Oh it is" He proceeds to change score to 46. "Oh wait that was a 3" He changed score again to 47. "Oh snap that was a 2 after all" He changes score back to 46. Someone was confused ; ) Actually my review of the reply shows it should be a 3 so change that score back to 47 before it's to late.
