The sheriffs in red dead redemption 2 do actually help when a npc attacks you just need to run away then they will help

4:07 the cops do help they didn’t help you because you started the fight by tackling him you have to antagonize them until they start fighting you and run over to a lawman and let them throw the first punch

@VLZ.7 Interesting. I tried several times and it was always the same. Cops just used verbal warnings UNTIL one of my attackers draw a gun. Maybe one of your attackers used a gun.
