I feel like it's this innate french desire to set themselves apart from their western friends. Britain, America, modern Germany, they all kinda do the same things as each other. Both Politically and Engineering the French approach I've noticed has always been something close to "well if that's what they're doing how can we do it in a way that stands out". I wonder if it has to do with the French identity, the spirit of liberty and its opposition to conformity.

La France ne fait plus rien. Elle est à l'image de sa langue, une décharge à fautes d'orthographe, incapable de la simplifier pour que tout le monde l'utilise. Maintenant, on parle tous anglais...

Where is the Nord 2501 (or Noratlas) ? Perhaps because it is not crazy ? So why the Rafale in the list , it’s very good but not crazy. Very strange video….

German crosses on Payen and Latecoere are not at all accurate. Thoses planes flew under fench emblems. Inaccuracy and basic infos are to correct as soon as possible.

If the Ader avion III flew years before the wright brother's one, why is it not considered the first ever aeroplane?

Ader's first flight in 1890 was witnessed by very few people, just some friends of him, and the Americans claimed this flight was not official. Ader's Avion 2 was a failure. But in 1897, Avion 3's first flight was performed in front of French Army officers. Between 1890 and 1894, Octave Chanute, a French engineer who had moved to the USA, published several articles about the first steps of aviation in France. Chanute exchanged several letters with Wright brothers and he definitely played a part in their success. He was the link between French and Americans pionniers. By the way, French specialists claim Wright brothers' aircraft was catapulted. So it cannot be considered as truly self-propulsed.😉

@@diabologum09 so every flight isnt sure 100% but the wright's one was the most trustable I guess then? It wasnt a steam engine too I believe unlike the Avion III but a gas powered one maybe it played a role in the defenition of a plane. Just like Karl Benz "inventing" the first car (tricicle with gas powered engine) even though the "Fardier à Vapeur" of Joseph Cugnot was a way earlier concept of a car but was steam powered. The last two are European. Airbus has a great deal of French DNA, but remains a European company - not French, not German, not Spanish, but European, together for the better.

@@hermes6910 Alone ? Are you sur of that ? "If they want Germany can" that's why they are crying to have french tech right now. Scaf will never be produce. Airbus isn't European at all btw. More than 60% of an a380 plane is from USA & Japan.

I repeat, there is only one European country in Airbus that can currently build a plane alone. When you will have finish to cry ; go read what Bismarck was saying about people trusting in Europe.
