My first “high powered” car was an ep3 type r 54reg. I miss it to this day! Did a check on it a few months back and it’s still on the road 190k miles on it on its last MOT. Passed every time with only a few minors throughout the years, glad it’s still going strong and being looked after. Sold it at 41k wish I kept it even though I’ve had a lot more powerful cars since then but the memories made when having that car tops it all

Awesome video and you Really caught the sounds brilliantly. I know in today's turbo world, it's a different kettle of fish and some can't see the point but Honda should be applauded for designing these high revving beasts even if technology has moved in a different direction

My mates Eg 4wd with b18 turbo is nearly finished will give you a shout. Its a fully stripped EG, 4wd with a fully built b18 and his looking at around 500hp. Thats gona be mental on eg shel

I saw this video on YT of cop car chasing a Type R like this... it was insane... Cop car had no chance in the town... this guy was driving like a demon and i swear the Type R he was chasing was fully modded, quicker then this one... sick

I have a 310bhp mini cooper s F56 stage 1 mapped. Pippercross panel filter and lowered on H&R springs. Got loads more plans for summer. I'm in Stafford so if you ever wanted to give it a drive let me know 👊

Great vid, hi guys I have Milano red 04 ep3 with only 51k miles on the clock for sale with full service history and all previous mots, it’s always been garaged, completely standard other than a induction kit, still got original. It’s hpi clear and in extremely good condition, seats are unmarked never been smoked in, alloys are immaculate. I am an enthusiast and have only ever used shell v power in it. Standard they arent that fast but with a few bolt ons they keep up with all the modern Hot Hatches easily, if you add FI to them they are another level.

Loved mine! Had to sell it a few months ago due to having my first child, so decided to get something bigger and a BITTTT more sensible...so I got a JDM 98 Subaru Legacy GTB Twin Turbo (Manual) now, cars basically stock minus an exhaust and intake. Standard from the factory with 280bhp and Bilstein Suspension. If that's something you'd want to review, let me know.... I'm in Dudley, West Midlands. Cheers

To everyone saying its a japanese/ jdm car. Its not its ukdm. The were manufactured in Swindon (UK) the only ep3 thats jdm is the championship white edition, which was exported to japan for domestic sale. Then some imported back👍🏼

Love the ep3, fast and light. Had mine up to 155 hard to believe but it's true. Timing chain and bearing in the engine went at 112k

@@solefreak2 They are if you replace the timing chain tensioner, common fault with the K20 unit. Put the right oil in it at the right intervals, don't rag it from cold, it'll run forever.

@@solefreak2 I did my best to save it but after spending over a grand on a timing chain then the first time I gave it a good blast then the horrible noise started. Couldn't be bothered to spend any more so I sold it 600 pound and got a golf R, now I need a clutch lol yes the R is faster but doesn't feel 100 bhp faster as it's a heavy lump, iv never been blown away by the golf R nothing special until you tune it.

@@jamstersmith4625 The Golf R should be a lot quicker than the Type R. I've driven the Honda when they first released, excellent handling but need to be worked hard to gain or feel any speed. In fact my previous diesel 330cd would leave the Type R's on a rolling drag and from stand still.

@@solefreak2 but have you drove the golf R? Mine is manual so alot slower than the dsg. The golf feels so heavy but planted at the same time. My honda had a de cat and I raced loads of ep3 s fn2 and by the end of third gear I'd be well infront. My mate said his subaru was 300 brake and would kill my ep3 so we went for a race. If you want a proper crossover try a b series, they're more aggressive. Also try and get in an eg, ek or dc2, they're more raw than EP3's

Miles Nathaniel-James B series cross over is not better than the k series. K20a2 is the Ep3, K20a is better than K20a2 and the k24 is the best of them all. 😊

K is more aggressive in everyway except for the sound. Nothing beats the sound of a B series crossover

Smokes like fuck! Thats one knackered engine. I had an 53 plate and was a couple of years old but it never smoked, I cained the arse out of it too. Lovely car and I miss it so so much.
