To my ear there is not enough difference to justify they eye watering prices for any of them. At that price I'd expect them to shit a diamond every time I turned them on! Awesome playing as ever.

I actually think the New Diode KTR and the original Klon sound the closest. Both push the mids a bit more than the other two KTR's

It is incredible how some people can hear that one of the pedals is BY FAR the best sounding, in a KZfaq video... I wish I could have your ears, because that would mean that I would be able to distinguish one BY FAR on a blind test.. Sure.

They all sound identical to me, but youtube compression. Also that massive 50hz hum is back in your recording rig.

They all sound pretty good. Even the new diode sounds comparable. The original sounds the best of course. But the rest are pretty close. Throw in a good EQ pedal and get even closer.

A/B tests should ALWAYS be preformed with a switcher especially when the pedal has a “always on” buffer. That last KTR has 3 buffers in front a a ton of cable. Not shitting on your video, love Pawn Pawn, just something to consider for next time

To be honest. For my ears the old Klon is by far the best in the high gain outputs. Low gain was pretty close but in the high output it’s actually more difference than expected to my ears.

Do the old and new diodes have any visual differences? I just bought a ktr on reverb and the seller claims it was made in 2012. I saw that there’s a “made in” sticker on the top side of the pcb but you have to completely disassembled it to see the sticker.

Old diodes have a black band and the new ones have a red band

Which one are you referring to mate? The Klon KTR Is available at select dealers although they are selling out pretty much straight away at the moment 🎛🎸

Two weeks ago, I was called to buy my KTR after being on SoundPure's two year waitlist. I paid $309.46 (including CA sales tax) . The waiting list is now at three years.
