Apparently it was the only way to get Van out to the states to accept this award in singer/songwriter hall of fame - once he heard that Ray would sing a duet with him he couldn’t refuse - would love to her Ray’s speech before giving Van his award - lovely words about his respect & love of Vans work - used to be on KZfaq but can’t find it anywhere now 🤔😤

@@RMcGivern oh hey Raymond, no I wasn't fortunate enough to see this performance live. I meant that if I was there, I would be the one screaming like a teenage girl when Van the Man took the stage😄. This performance just blows my mind with these two iconic, incredible voices singing in the same song. Too much good stuff!

I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles And the heaven's open every time she smiles And when I come to her that's where I belong Yet I'm running to her like a river's song She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love She's got a fine sense of humor when I'm feeling low down And when I come to her when the sun goes down Take away my trouble, take away my grief Take away my heartache, in the night like a thief She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love Yes I need her in the daytime (I need her) Yes I need her in the night (I need her) Yes I want to throw my arms around her (I need her) Kiss and hug her, kiss and hug her tight Yet when I'm returning from so far away She gives me some sweet lovin' brighten up my day Yet it makes me righteous, yes it makes me whole Yet it makes me mellow down in to my soul She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love

Congratulations on your recovery. It’s interesting how many in recovery wonder if they will ever have fun again because so much of their social and recreational life involved mood altering substances. It’s joyful to discover enjoying music, friends, even a meal is joyful! The substances had numbed the bad and the good feelings. The “high” didn’t enhance experiences. Enjoying music utilizes nearly all of the brain, and the brain benefits from the good neurotransmitters firing up, which is far better than the brain being compromised by substances. Congratulations!
