Typically mooncakes are sweet and either you like it with yolk or not.

I actually think durian tastes and smells pretty good! You just have to build some tolerance for it and you'll like it in no time!

I loved it the first time I tried it, but the smell is something to get used too. After you eat it though the smell becomes less and more tolerable. I still love it though. ^__^

Off the Great Wall I'm not sure if you've tried, but if you actually eat the durian, you won't be able to smell it. It just kinda disappears and if everyone eats it you can just be stinky together - no one will smell it anyways, ha!

bigfootlovely dan actually tried durian in one of their earlier videos, I think carmen was still there, and he didn't like it. the fruit they bought wasn't perfectly ripe though. I actually licked my lips at the sight of durian mooncake

I think five kernel with pork is a very traditional flavor...and actually all the flavors you guys mentioned in this video are not crazy for Chinese people thesedays. People have improved the flavor of mooncake you should give them a try. BTW have you guys heard about mooncake stuffed with chives and egg? That should be called CRAZY

This year we got a new flavor here! It's a gift from a friend of family. Mooncake with durian+peanuts+yolk flavor. Yes, 3 in 1. It sorts of showing the feeling of the giver.

Definitely with Dan on this one! Yolks!! My friend made snow skin mooncakes for us this year and instead of the more traditional mung bean filling (even most flavoured ones use a mung bean base), she used pumpkin and sweet potato, taro and green tea!

Team Dan all the waaaaaayyy!!!!!!! BTW, that 5 kernels moonscape is actually quite common. There's always a box of this at home during Mid-Autumn Festival every year when I was younger, my mum & grandma would eat them.

I've only ever had mooncake once - a Chinese exchange student staying in my dorm gave me some, and I loved it! It was sweet and a little bit salty, because of the use of cured ham in the filling. I don't remember any nuts, though. Delicious! Definitely not savoury.

Hello! On September 11 2014, for the very first time I tryed a Mooncake, the one with the egg. It has a similar taste to a fuit we have in Puerto Rico. I would need to try ohers flavor to see wich taste best. By the way Dan, sorry I didn't say anything about you. I like both of you guys! I like when you use the Chinese expressions with the character, I'm learning mandarin and it helps. I enjoy very much your show. Keep it up!!!

I agree that mooncakes are definitely a sweet food - don't think I could stomach those crazy savoury ones! Also I like making my own when I get the time. They've all been snowskin - there's been taro mooncake, sweet potato mooncake and red bean mooncake. The green tea one is such a good idea! Perhaps next year :)

I always eat five kernal and roasted pork during the mid-autumn festival. The taste is very nice with the crunchy sweet nuts. For the roasted pork, you can barely taste it.

I'm totally down to try all those moon cakes! The meat one I've heard of but never really tried... Team Mike! I don't like the egg yolk. I usually just have lotus seed paste moon cakes.

Cheese mooncakes is very typical where I am. There is a mooncake with meat filling here. And the roast pork mooncake is delicious. The crust is rather thick and will certainly hold when dipped in hot pot. The crust feels like a pie crust but probably deep fried.

I actually think bleu cheese can be quite good in a moon cake! Also, roast pork is such a great idea to save the "5 kernel" stuffing!! I would actually try that, and I HATE "5 kernel" stuffing..

Actually, those flavors aren't too bad. I would try them all. Of course, I've never had a mooncake... I did make a "mooncake" myself, though. Honey sweetened sweet potato wrapped in mochi skin.

AW MAN YES THE ICE CREAM MOONCAKE! I live in Australia so we eat ice cream ALL YEAR ROUND and when we go visit China, my family in china never eat the ice cream mooncakes from HAAGEN DAZ that the have because its "too cold". SO I get to end up eating all of them! Haha I had 1 a day last time. No regrets!

Majority of these sounds good! The ice cream mooncake sounds like a mock chinese klondike though... Unfortunately for me my mom only allows me to eat 1/8 of a mooncake cuz of the calories and whatnot :(

I actually had some of these before! The 5 kernal & roast pork mooncake and the green tea mooncake (which I actually ate with green tea...yeah double green tea power! :D) And I would like to try the cheese mooncake, the chocolate mooncake and the ice cream mooncake *-* Oh and Team Dan all the way!
