Hi guys. As an Argentinian private pilot and aviation fan (like we all are here I guess!) I'll give more context on the first clip: That is the new oficial presidential airplane, a 757-200 that arrived last week from the Boeing factory in the US to SABE airport in Buenos Aires. The pilots, only souls in the plane at the time, requested to do this low pass as a welcoming to the new plane, a pretty common ritual in this cases. Keep up the good work!

It was a delivery for the new presidential plane, it was not planned: it was "requested" at the last moment. Performing low passes is ok, we all enjoy them... but conditions as you can see were far from optimal (low visibility, raining, other planes nearby due to a storm hitting the area)... They didn't follow the ATC command as well and ignored some instructions. These are the same pilots that performed another questionable approach about a year ago... So it's not the first time they are just reckless...

@A.J.1656
@A.J.1656 Жыл бұрын
I've never heard of drop turbulence. That said, even the really bad turbulence most people experience doesn't cause that kind of altitude loss. Mountain wave causes more altitude deviation, but it feels like a rollercoaster, not crazy bumpy. The biggest risk of flying that low would be a microburst. At that speed, it would be easier to recover from than if they were at approach speeds.
@chrisdenation1
@chrisdenation1 Жыл бұрын
@@A.J.1656 I mean severe turbulence where the plane drop a few hundret feet like the lufthansa months ago, but it's very rare and maybe not that high, but I wonder if it could happen during takeoff where the plane is only a few hundred feet from ground😬

@@chrisdenation1 Wind shear and microbursts are threatening at lower altitudes. That's why we practice wind shear escape maneuvers. It's basically full power and try to climb. If you got it at speed like in the low pass shown, you'd have plenty of speed to trade for altitude. In a takeoff or landing configuration, you don't have that excess energy.
