27twilkes Not to be rude my brother or sister in Christ, in all due respect 1 Timothy 5:17 says otherwise “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.” This celebration is simply giving honor where it is due. Thanking God for blessing people with a great Shepherd who loves to teach God’s word and praise his name!

Jesus is the only one that is supposed to be celebrated this is why the church is full of pagan rituals, this is why church has declined

27twilkes I can totally agree that only Jesus should be worshiped yet I can still say that he gave us Pastors and Elders for a reason whom we as Sheep should honor and respect. Also god’s word is the same yesterday today and forever so if he told us then to give those that rule over us double honor I will do it today. Also let’s put the Pastoral Celebration aside and just thank God that people are still gathering in his name to worship. Remember you never know what these people have been through and how their pastor could have been their only encouragement, I rest my case have a blessed day!

Markel Jones again my friend you are totally “churched” the old church of yesterday is not the church of today. I encourage you to really study seek and read. A lot of what you’re saying is man made church rules hello wake up.. besides Jesus never called anyone to a church but to himself the very word said that Jesus don’t dwell in temples made by mans hands but in the heart.
