I'm once again having an absolute blast using a 2007/08 database for FM24. The Liverpool team from this era was one of my favourites in my time following football, with the partnership between Gerrard and Torres and the midfield of Mascherano and Alonso. So, I've set myself the challenge to try and win the Premier League and maybe even the Champions League too!

Great video man. Lots of nostalgia in here. I hate to be one of those guys who say everything old was better but I do think this late 2000s era was the right balance of football being more professional and athletic than the my dad's generation but not every team trying to play the same way if that makes sense

I'm only 21 minutes in and this team is screaming out for Matias Fernandez, which is a name that still to this day has a cult like following in my friend group. A special place in my heart for Matias, I hope you do the right thing in the next 36 minutes Clayts!

Aguero at liverpool is a painful sight to see. But im all seriousness, what a player he was at his best. One of the best strikers in PL and maybe could have been the less if he had alot less injuries during his career.

On the Marco Reus potential thing, I may be wrong but I think Mad used the stats from FM 2008 meaning the potential is based on how good FM rated them in 2008 rather than with modern day hindsight. A player could be rated terribly in FM 2008 who went on to have an amazing career but they'd still have low potential in this database.

FM somehow always finds a way to make Real Madrid interested in signing the strangest players like Carragher. I've seen Real Madrid buy Maguire and show interest in Lindelöf in my saves before.

I love the idea and especially given it's Liverpool, but oh my are these atributes inflated. I understand that the other teams will have the same kind of great players, but it really looks like this Liverpool team is better than the more recent, more successful Liverpool teams. You could take this Riise or Fabio Aurelio and put them instead of Darwin Nunez as a pressing forward in FM 2024.

Harry Kewell was worlds away from Joe Cole at Liverpool. Injuries rather than genuine unfitness to play football was his issue.

Oh absolutely. I have fond memories of kewell. Less so of Cole. But in terms of hype versus what we actually got, certain parallels for sure.

Liverpool's xG against Inter was higher than against Bolton, Bolton > Inter Milan confirmed? It was Paddy Kenny in goal against Aguero in '12, he'd already made a blunder for QPR in the match which allowed Zabaleta to score
