@@lindsayraines1060 No, that's the point of a rulebook... so that it's not subjective. Rules have changed and half these wouldn't be called anymore. Yes, ref has ultimate authority of whether to enforce the rule or not, but if they want to keep their job, you bet they're gonna enforce the rules.

Pretty soon the defense that takes a timeout before the kicker kicks the ball will be flaged for unsportsmanlike conduct. There is a purpose for that timeout, the defense is trying to get into the kickers head.

It's being owned by another person in order to complete a task and not being paid for the job. The NFL has 2 way contracts. So saying it's slavery is just disrespectful. i agree when it comes to celebrating. i think celebrating should be allowed but taunting should be flagged. taunting flags DO serve a purpose. A single person can start taunting and taunting over and over and could get someone heated and start an assault with another player. or it can cause a ripple effect across the entire team which could enrage another team into anger which could effect the game entirely as teams loses focus.

I think the rule changed because the more recent ones assess the penalty after the kickoff. Taking back the TD was super dumb.

Incorrect, in that if a player begins his horrible expression of joy before he crosses the goal line the TD is still taken away. Early this season a Missouri player had a TD erased because he dove into the endzone and the refs were able to read his mind and determine he knew no defender was behind him. I guess they determined it was "choreographed" and "excessive", because it certainly wasn't "prolonged" (that's the three determining factors in Rule 9, Section 2, Article 1 of NCAA Football Rules). Sports are supposed to be FUN. If a few high steps or diving into the endzone enrage an opposing player to true unsportsmanlike conduct the issue should be on that defender, not the one having a little fun.

Yeah, making it a dead ball foul is definitely weird. As you said, put it on the PAT or the ensuing kickoff. Don't take the touchdown away and then take on another 15 yards on top of that.

Scoring touchdowns alienates the defense and destroys their self-esteem. This is 2019, and we need to be more sensitive to football defenses! It's not gonna kill you to punt on first down every once in a while, just to build them up. These kids are in college. This is an extremely crucial time in their development as a person. It's a fragile time to be scoring touchdowns when they're still trying to figure out who they are.

I remember watching the first one with the brilliant LSU punt fake. I’m not even a LSU fan and I still feel robbed of that touchdown. One the best special teams plays I’ve ever seen wiped out for an insanely stupid call that had no effect on the outcome

There was a coach who told his players when they scored a touchdown, "act like you've been there before". Personally, I like seeing celebrations--the Dallas Cowboys did a funny one at a Thanksgiving day game against the Lions--sitting down for "Dinner" in the end zone after a touchdown.

They really need to fix this rule, these are just young kids trying to showing passion for the game they love... Why should they have more limits than grown men in the NFL? Young college players should be aloud to taunt or dance after a big play, it makes the game fun for the players, fans and more competitive overall, now when they start doing things derogatory or explicit then pull the flag... If u can't even high step in the endzone now, its only a matter of time before u can't pat eachother on the helmet without getting a foul
