Saya orang jawa, walaupun dijawa juga ada rendang tapi kami mengakui kalau rendang berasal dari padang Sumatra Barat, kata rendang berasal dari istilah dalam bahasa Minang "marandang", yang maknanya memasak dalam waktu yg lama, kakek nenek orang Malaysia juga berasal dari Indonesia karena itu banyak budaya dan makanan Indonesia yang diajarkan turun temurun disana dan akhirnya sampai di klaim mereka

Suku2 lain di Indonesia mana pernah mengklaim budaya atau culinary menjadi miliknya. Tapi Malaysia beda, semua di klaimnya di UNESCO (rendang, batik, reog, dll) padahal punya orang lain kan brengsek! Jawa gak pernah klaim rendang dari jawa, Makasar gak penah klaim somay dari Makasar dan Lampung gak pernah klaim coto makasar dari Lampung. Semua saling menghargai. Tapi negeri Medini selalu tidak mengajarkan anak cucu nya kalau yg dia klaim punya orang lain.

That's not big news anymore that Malaysians claimed almost everything from Indonesia...not just foods, but cultures, territories, and even some famous people (artists) 🤣🤣... Actually, those were understandable, because the origin Malay people in Malaysia were mostly from Riau/Padang hundreds of years ago, and moved to Malaysia for a better living, cos' Indonesia still struggled fight to the Netherlands in the colonialization era...If there had been no movement from Indonesians at that time, I'm sure most Malaysians today are descendants of Chinese, Indian, or British people...the question is why do Malaysians have to 'claim' something that does not belong to them?

We're just saying that history sometimes alter the origin of things, both batik and rendang are already existed in Indonesia way before Srivijaya Empire brought those to Malaysia. And then they start to use them and becomes part of their culture as well. The same effect as Americans claiming Burger and Pizza their own cuisine.

I prefer the Indonesian one as the Minang people in West Sumatra preserved much more of their traditional culture and practices. Negeri Sembilan was the traditional centre for Minang people in Malaysia. So it is rwally a Minang dish now very popular in both Indonesia and Malaysia. In the early video the name of the stadium is GBK (gelora bung karno) capacity around 77,000. In jakarta there is another stadium the capacity 85,000 in north jakarta sunter, it is using for the football club the name is persija jakarta and the stadium simmiliar like your home town such as wembley, emirate and eitihad. Rendang originaly came from province in indonesia west sumatera, and padang city is a part of west sumatera.

Rendang is a part of *Masakan Padang* or Padang Cuisine in West Sumatra. Yes, Malaysia has its version of Rendang, but I don't know if they have other menus like you've seen in Padang Restaurant, I think they only have Rendang.

Sederhana, the place where you ate that food, is one of many Rumah Makan Padang. Traditional restaurant owned mostly by Padang (West Sumatra Province) people. Rendang is one of many the signature food at Rumah Makan. Next time you eat, try eating Gulai Tunjang or Kikil. You can mix them with Rendang. It's addictive. But please pay attention to your cholesterol😅
