A lot of you guys asked why I didn't just shoot her in the studio and here's my simple answer! I truly think its easier on set. A quick green screen shot is done on set all the time. No reason to spend another 1/2 day to set it up in the studio when you are right there. It's easier to also keep the same lighting. Unless the entire shoot is green screen it does not make sense to go back to the studio for a single shot. Do them both there and move on.

I feel like you missed a big opportunity here. If you went to all the trouble to bring a green screen, and you had the app programmed already, why not use the exact same pan movement with the talent at the same speed. If they moved at the same pace it would have created a very very cool effect. Thats truly where i thought you were going for the entire shoot until i saw the final product

dude this whole thing is so thrown together. It's really sad because it truly does cheapen what I generally expect from this channel. This was half assed plain and simple to promo a product. Thankfully a really good product, but the end result does little justice to the product or the quality of the content we're used to seeing here.

If you're interested, they use green more than blue now not because of wardrobe but because of the bayer pattern of most digital sensors. Green gets sampled twice as often as red and blue so it has twice the signal to noise ratio as the other channels, which makes for a cleaner key.

Hi, Jay P.! I Love your videos! I am a beginner on photography and time-lapses, and I'm having trouble to make a Sunset time-lapse. How do you do Post Production, with all the light variation, to enhance images, and still make a smooth time-lapse film? Could you, please, make a video on this subject? I've just posted a "Moonset time-lapse" on my channel. It goes ok, up to the point when the day-light begins to shine... Thanks a lot!

@AGS-8785-D1R
@AGS-8785-D1R 5 жыл бұрын
While she is getting additionally lit, shooting her out there in the same light conditions as the intersection, removes the step of having to match it in a studio when lighting her. Looks way more natural and less work doing it the way they did.
@CreatorofWhat
@CreatorofWhat 5 жыл бұрын
@@AGS-8785-D1R I guess it depends on what ”less work” means. It seems to me that dragging a greenscreen out to a busy intersection and setting it up and lighting it would be at least as much work as trying to match it in a professional studio. Not to mention having to possibly get permits and safety concerns. But I do like the effect.
@MyoDest

I'm super confused by that as well because what he's saying is he's keyed out the greenscreen, but what we're seeing where the greenscreen used to be is like, some random shot. We shouldn't be seeing any background from the greenscreen plate, we should be seeing through the timelapse plate.

I don't understand why the model couldn't have been shot in the studio over the full frame green screen, and then just superimposed over timelapse. Why did she have to be in the actual street, but cut out of it with green screen and rimlight and keylight? The lighting conditions are not the street conditions, the green screen removes real background, so why even bother? Shoot timelapse in the street, shoot the model in the studio over proper green screen in controlled conditions, superimpose, done. You can use fan to imitate the wind if that's what you need.

This is a concept/tutorial, and your point is good, but you can imagine how useful this would be if the model interacted with even one element of the environment. Take the same shot, follow all the same process that he did, but have the model standing behind that metal stand thing with her arm on it, and then imagine it
@dankspangle
@dankspangle 5 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was going to ask. I can see you'd want to shoot her in the environment if you wanted to match lighting (and weather), but you are lighting the model separately anyway...
@BrianIrwin
@BrianIrwin 5 жыл бұрын
The only item jumping to mind is that maybe the camera motion would be harder to synchronize. Doing it in the field, you have the same camera movement, angle and distances match foreground to background. I am sure that could also be faked in post, but this is possibly easier.
@MS-gn4gl

Why was the edge so fuzzy though. There was literally almost zero green bleed onto her back clothing. I'm pretty disappointed in the final result here. This just seems so thrown together and layered. The edge could and should be so much crisper here and I know this was a sliderone product promo but you did it 0 zero justice with how bad the final result was imo.
