Crazy Unexpected Things That Were Found Inside of People

Your body is a temple, but sometimes that temple can have ugly invaders. At other times, people choose to put rather strange things inside their personal shrines. Over the years, doctors around the world have pulled out some pretty horrible things from people's bodies, or they discovered things growing inside of people that are the stuff of nightmares. Hello and welcome to another episode of The Infographics Show. Today, we're taking a look at the most shocking things ever discovered inside people.
Before we start, we have to warn you that this episode is not for the squeamish, and if you're currently eating, you may want to click away and come back when done. Just don't say we didn't warn you.
First up, we have the story of a six-year-old British girl from just this year who went to the hospital complaining about abdominal pain and continuous vomiting for three to four days. On physical inspection, her stomach was rigid to the touch, and she was clearly dehydrated. When the doctors sent her off for an X-ray, they were shocked to discover a large, dark mass in her bowels that wound up into her intestines. Rushing her to surgery, the doctors pulled a giant hairball weighing 4 pounds (1.8 kg) and measuring 3 feet (1 meter) long. The hairball had settled in her bowels and caused a blockage, while its tail extended all the way up into her intestines. Doctors would go on to diagnose her with trichotillomania or Rapunzel syndrome, a condition where people pull out their own hair and sometimes eat it. The hair tends to accumulate over years and years until it finally causes a blockage that can turn fatal, as was the case for a 16-year-old British girl who died after her hairball became infected.

I had a sunflower growing in my lung for 6+ years Dr’s keep telling me I had pneumonia. I tell one day I thought I was dying went to the Dr an he sent me to a lung specialist witch found a sunflower seed sprout in the lower lobe of my right lung.

I went to the US for a summer to work as a lifeguard, one of my Australian coworkers woke up to have this horrible pain in her ear, she went to a doctors and found that a spider had crawled deep into her ear and made itself at home in there. The doctors tried to flood it out and that drowned it but didn’t get it out so they had to do something more invasive to her ear which got most of it. She was still having pain weeks later and went back and they found there were still little bits of spider left behind which they had to remove. I’m not afraid of spiders at all, but that made me really squirm and I’m quite impressed by the brave face she made throughout because id probably be freaking out.

When i was in high school. My parents were often fight. (They almost divorce) It was make me very stressed. I started to have a bad habbit. I pulled my hair and ate them, but only the roots. Then my family realized i had some bald spots on my head. And i got therapy.

That's what happened to my granddad as well, he had surgery around the stomach area (can't remember) and they left one of the equipment inside him... Thank goodness they found the problem.

There was once a guy who had a full blown tree sprout grown in his lung. It was said he inhaled a seed and it got stuck in his lung,and somehow managed to survive for months until it was removed by surgeons.

Probably one if the more terrifying tales I’ve heard is where a man had choked on a legume (I can’t remember if it was a pea or some sort of bean), but was suddenly fine. Some time later they were experiencing breathing difficulties, only for doctors to discover it had gotten into his lung and started to germinate. It was something we discussed extensively during class one day (it was a biotechnology class), sort of elaborating on how he hadn’t already died from the foreign object in his lung and if the conditions within the human body could support plant life, even just for initial germination. Come to think of it, we managed to go off topic a lot in that class...
