Your reaction was the same as many people i knew when i played this🤣🤣this was definitely out of the box and worth the effort. sadly nothing like this would get airplay today

Loved this in my teens, crazy but brilliant !!! A lot of songs from the 70s era were "trippy" 🤣

Their album Moving Waves is a classic. They are true musicians. FYI, Midnight Special was a late Saturday(?) night weekly music show.

This performance was on a show called , "The Midnight Special" from 1973. The song is actually about 6 minutes in length, but the band was told they only had 4 minutes in order to perform it. Their answer, play it at a faster tempo. They nailed it and the audience gave them a standing ovation.

You've witnessed the actual birth of progressive rock, lol. I used to get into so much trouble sneaking out of bed to watch Midnight Special, Saturday Night Live, and Monty Python, lol. Worth it every single time.

Their song House of the King was used on a programme hosted by Magnus Pyke on ITV called Don't Ask Me...Given that many of us in the 60s and 70s loved experimentation we had no problem with this song or this band.

First discovered this when I was about 14 and going through my mums album collection..she was Sabbath, Floyd and some prog stuff..but my dads was james last and Klaus wunderlich and his amazing organ??? The mind boggles?? 😁 but this is one of the tunes that opened my young ears

Well another blast from my past, cannot remember the top 30 version sounding quite like this 😮 Think they were a Dutch band, and remember having a teen argument who was the best guitarist Yan or Richie Blackmore 😮 Yes a crazy bunch who had a couple of hits at the time Sylvia been the one I remember. As always great review 👍

Hello Thank you for your reaction. I recommend the moving waves album, the Focus 3 album and the focus 4 hamburger concerto album. These musicians are among the most eclectic and complete I know. I don't want to reveal the surprises but I think you won't be disappointed. 😮

I loved the reactions on your face, when the yodelling started! Best: rock meets yodelling, I ever heard! They had another great song named "Sylvia!" which also has some yodelling and some funky guitar/organs on it! They never really did songs as such but in my opinion; the yodelling/whistling/flute sufficed. Lastly, your hair looks nice! Ciao!
