Crazy to see all that bare ground in February. We've had a pretty mild winter, too, but not that mild.

One buddy has started the maple syrup already so he loves it and my other buddy has an ice fishing hut rental and he's going broke.

Awesome woods and cool video, thanks for sharing. Back when we sold firewood my Dad always bad mouthed hydraulic splitters saying we coukd split the wood faster with an 8lb. maul. But i will say splitters are probably less impact on the body and i think they might be faster nowadays snd you can split those really knotty piieces. Have a great week.
@adventurerhoades4 ай бұрын
Yes I love to hand split some. I do think Givin overall time. The splitter is faster & definitely the gnarly ones easier to bust up. Love the stories with your Dad

Good morning to you, I came across from Twin Brook Acres. I have subscribed. Josh the weather has started to warm up here as well in Huntsville, Texas. I am convinced we are going to have an early Spring.

Mid to upper 30's here this week. I might have to start tapping my maple trees. But I'll wait and see what the temps will be next week. Strange weather everywhere.
@adventurerhoades4 ай бұрын
Yes I know some here are tapping.

If we get through February on easy mode, were pretty much in the clear. Mid March is the beginning of the end of winter, coinciding with March Break (our spring break) and news casts telling children to stay away from the rivers. If so, the worst we could get is 2 or 3 significant dumps til early April
@adventurerhoades4 ай бұрын
Agree, it's crazy but would be nice. Have a great week Anthony
@MickyBellRoberts4 ай бұрын
How do you folk handle all that cold and snow?
@adventurerhoades4 ай бұрын
It can be cold & snow approximately December through March. Probably clear snow around 10-20x in a year
