It really warms my heart that Shelly and Jared fought so hard for Harlan. A child they didn't know, who had been dismissed as a bad kid, what absolutely wonderful people to have fought for their son. Harlan has always come across as such a nice, caring and kind person. 💙

I want to see 20 questions about Jared and Shelly i want to know more about thier past, them as people. I feel like the channel mainly focuses on the kids and thats great but the parents matter too and I wanna know more about them and how thy grew up etc.

Harlan, I am so sorry for the hurt you felt when Middles wanted to adopt you initially and the case workers denied that. So sorry. You deserved so much better. Thank God the Middles persisted and you are part of this family forever. I truly hope you find what makes you happy. That is the most important thing in each of our lives. I wish you the very very best.

Oh my gosh, they said WHAT about Harlan?!? That's absurd! Seeing what a sweet personality Harlan has, and what an amazing young man he is, is proof those social workers were complete idiots and that every child deserves a loving family!

It is nice to see Harlan in the blog once again, as well as hearing his story about the adoption. I think the so-called experts really need a lesson in human kindness. To say those things about a young boy is horrible and I wonder how many other kids were treated in that fashion. I want to commend Shelly and Jared for the love they showed toward Harlan and the other children they adopted. They are truly special people.

Fighting for Harlan shows just how BIG Jared and Shelly’s hearts are. I’m glad that you guys pulled a fast one and told the school that the case worker sent you! 😂 How awful to think that they didn’t want him placed. I bet Harlan just hates that place for doing that to him. He seems like such a sweet and gentle soul. I’m glad he’s got a great life now with his wonderful family. ❤

I will never understand why ppl who work in the foster care system and SHOULD understand how difficult that is for the kids and that they’ve been thru hard times and TRAUMA... could still dismiss a child and say they don’t deserve a family!! Why is that person in this field... how many other kids have they treated poorly?

I am so shocked at the case workers saying Harlan didn’t deserve a family and had written him off to even have a chance at a family & especially a chance at a home with his siblings, that is honestly heartbreaking that they could say/do that about/to a child! Shelly & Jared I am so pleased you went out and fought for him, even if you had to be a bit sneaky about it to start with, needs must sometimes!! x

That’s absolutely awful the foster care system said that he “ didn’t deserve a family”!! EVERYONE deserves a family and to be loved!!! It warms my heart that you fought for Harlan and I’m so glad he was able to be reunited with his biological siblings ❤. I love that you try to adopt sibling groups in order to keep the kids together as best as you can!!
