Same! I was brought up at a time when the doctors believed that children cannot be depressed, so I received no help until I was diagnosed with anorexia in my mid 20's (a disorder the doctors were just learning about).

honestly i feel for you, i was in the same position, i started feeling anxiety and down around 12 years old and it worsened over time till i tried to seek help from my parents and it took alot of courage and willpower, and to be turned down just pained me in another level, overtime i came to an aunt who that same day brought me in for help, yes without my mom’s permission, but had my dad’s permission, and got therapy that we sneak in either we say i have practice or my aunt taking me out or me and my dad and brother spending time, or sometimes just going to the mall and buy something, i got the help i needed thanks to my aunt who believed me without a doubt in my mind.

Yeah that was so sweet & when they were doing the huddle and Hannah said something to Halie and started to head hug Halie and they stopped mid huddle to hug eachother for real ,that was really sweet.

I just love how Aurora patiently waited her turn to hug you, then moved your hair to really hug you tight, gosh she is just such a loving little girl. And I'm sorry there was no note inside the box, but I sent the cactus led light, pens in cup, candles, and there should be more items coming from amazon. When Hannah said “we washed her sheets because people have been sleeping in them.” When all of the siblings left the large heart in the middle for Alex to write his note after he was done at sports! And when Alex said “even better” after the name change announcement. The support of this family is so amazing and I love watching for that reason. You all show your love in different ways. It's rare to see Jake crying but when he saw Halie he was sobbing 😭. I missed Lacey and Halie together ,their bond is like Shelly and Crystal. Hannah couldn't control her emotions even though she tried to flim 😭 . I missed Crazy Duo❤️

Halo is perfect for Halie. As soon as I saw her I was like “wow, she is GLOWING!!”. And then I heard she wanted to be called Halo and I was like that is soo fitting and perfect for her. I’m soo happy that she is back and you can tell every single person missed her soo much. But most of all I’m just happy that Halie (Halo) is happy!! ❤️❤️

@@deibooks as much as they are probably “generic” in your opinion. And that is your opinion, and I respect that. When you are going through dark times like I was when I was 19 and came across these words, they helped me be able to keep going. And 5 years later I’m still living by them and I couldn’t be in a happier place! So yeah they are probably “generic”, but sometimes it is the “generic” quotes that might save a person from their past! Have a good one!

Definitely not going to cry" Also me: ***proceeds to cry FIVE times throughout the video*** 😭❤️ Halie, I'm 23 years old tomorrow and you at 16- are SO much more grown at SIXTEEN than most people are in their 30's. That maturity, understanding and those beautiful analogies you have, will really help you flourish in life. Glad you're back with your family, as family is everything. ❤️✨ My mom (only 40 years old) committed suicide last year (May 6th), while on the ward and under the care of healthcare professionals who failed her. I think it's SO important to raise awareness (after the inquest, I will be doing just that) and I'm glad that you're using your platform to do the same Halo ❤️ Much love from the UK and sending you a bigggggg hug (my mom used this emoji as a hug >>) 💞 - Mari x

After knowing Melinda's story, her hugging Halie had me bawling! Lacey asking to hug her got me going again. And then watching Hannah cry as the other girls hugged Halie just made me lose it! Those 4 girls are such a sweet little sisterhood pack. I'm so glad to see her home. I missed seeing this when she came home, and I'm just so happy to see her feeling so much more confident. And to see her surrounded by everyone who loves her so much

It’s also so heartwarming to see everyone so excited and especially to see Hannah, because it looks like she put a lot of work into everything and it looks like she managed the house really well when you were away, she is going to be a great mom someday! as someone who also struggled with depression and anxiety within the past 4 year this is an incredible story and i love how support of you guys were of halie with going and getting help i am so thankful for my mom doing the same and it actually helped me figure out my self worth and helped with me learning how to handle my stress and i encourage everyone if you are struggling please ask for help! and i’m happy that halie is home! wish you guys the best

As someone who had been diagnosed with severe anxiety and mild depression, it makes me cry seeing how genuinely happy Halie is. I can tell it’s a real smile and I’m so happy for her! It’s also beautiful to see everyone’s reactions to seeing Halie. There’s a lot of people who don’t have supportive family members or family members that try to understand when it comes to mental health so seeing how supportive your family is warms my heart.

I'm just asking because I really suspect my family member might be going through some of the same stuff Halie has been dealing with... Did they find out if the Accutane was causing some of the problem? I'm soo soooo happy Halie is doing so much better! Love you guys!

having depression and anxiety issues myself and off and on wanting to give up sometimes i love watching these videos cause it reminds me that stuff does get better no matter what you go thru you always have the support and stuff does get better. it gives me hope that one day my depression and anxiety will be under control

This was a very emotional vlog for everyone. Welocme back Hallie! I'm happy to see your face back on the camera and see you in a much happier place. You clearly see the growth and pure joy all over her. Glad you got the help you needed to bring out the amazing person that was already inside you but waiting to come out. I love how supportive your family is and how much they genuinely love and care about you. There's no one greater to get support from than your family. In closing, always remember no matter what you're going through know that you have purpose, you are special, worth more than you know, loved, and are valued. Someone else is experiencing the same or similar situation you did and you can be the change they need.

It seems so surreal for me that it is actually possible, this videos taught me in a way that even though i am probably never getting there, it exist and i deserve better than just taking what it comes my way, and for that i am THANKFUL. I am truly happy that all of the kids got to change their life’s around and be this loved.

As someone who has struggled with OCD, anxiety, and depression for years, I have to tell you that it’ll be a hard journey, even after the therapy. Highs and lows are very real, and sometimes unexpected. Maybe you’ll get triggered by an unexpected event, and the process has to start over again. Don’t lose your hope, keep working and moving forward no matter how hard it is. My struggle officially started when I was about 14, I’m almost 19 now and in SUCH a better place. I’ve had several relapses, the worst of which was when I was 17. I’m finally in a place where I’m able to commit to actions that make me unbelievably happy. I put in my transfer app from OSU to UCF, and I am so excited to have a chance at a new beginning. Good luck on your journey, we’re all rooting for you girl!

Right on the money. I hope Aaron and Crystal are also doing therapy if only to help their children when they are having a hard time coping. As you say, its a very difficult journey and while no two journeys are the same, they all share common denominators. I remember sometimes when leaving the hospital I would have these overwhelming days because ppl are excited to see you back or they want you to "get back to normal" or they outright try to ignore you just went through something major & want to pretend like all is OK and as a teenager you sometimes want to please everyone so you say you're ok, you try to match their hightened mood & just be "your best" but that ends up being a recipe for disaster & you find yourself deeper into the rabbits hole. I hope Crystal & Aaron take special care to not push Halie back into what they consider normal & that they make sure she is really ok & not faking it so that they are ok. Halie if you read this, I wish you all the best. Take it easy on yourself and go at your own pace. You dont have to be perfect, just be you. 🤗

Yes I agree mental health is a journey and something that can fluctuate so much but with the right tools and support it can become so much more manageable, I hope she keeps feeling comfortable to ask for help when she needs it

I can see why they called her halo. She gives light to so many. Glad to see she's giving herself some of that same light and finding her worth. As someone with severe ptsd and depression, who has been in multiple inpatient programs, this makes my heart happy to see her genuine joy and hope and to see the support from everyone. 💛

I know from personal experience you can fake feeling upbeat and happy when you have depression, but Hallie truly looks so great. She is glowing from the inside out, and that is so great to see.
