What I love the most about Aurora is no matter what is going on in her life she is always smiling. We all should learn that from her. Hope this helps her talk better.

I am saying little prayers that the lip/tongue tie surgery ALSO corrects the very poor sleep/seizure problems. Wouldn’t THAT be a huge wonderful miracle? Her speech correction, I can already see, is happening! I am so happy for Aurora. 💕

I think it would be such a cool idea to ask Aurora to say the same word every day or every week so you can see how she progresses from now till whenever you feel like she said the word “correctly.”

Aurora is so cute. shes looking more like Jamie recently which is so cute because she looks like her sister (bio mom) but also looks like crystal which is insane! i remember reading a study that said adopted kids start to look more like their adopted parents because of their mannerisms, facial expressions, etc. how sweet! so glad she is sorted now!

I’m a kindergarten teacher. A suggestion when you move to the valley,. Get her speech lessons and she will catch up. She’s super smart. Looking at your mouth to see what you are doing to make the sounds. Speech teachers will just catch her up faster and most know games to make it fun.

My son was born tongue tied, in the UK they wouldn't operate till he was 5yrs old, but it stretched itself when he was 3yrs old it took him 6 mths to speak clearly & catch up with his age group at nursery, but he was fine after that. That was 26 yrs ago HD hasn't stopped talking since 😊

She hasn’t been going for a bit because they’re moving and they’re going to put her back into speech therapy once they’re moved into the new house. This video brought me back to my childhood. I remember going under anesthesia several times up until age 7. I have a rare medical condition that has made my neck, chin/face swell and tongue. It has affected my speech a lot and had to practice many sounds from 4 to 10. I still struggle some with speech as my tongue is larger and less mobile but seeing her improve reminds me of myself. I wish my parents rewarded my effort instead of only criticizing my speech. Also things will improve I had several surgeries and parental scares when I was younger but my last one was when I was 7 I am 18 now going through hard things allows you to see each milestone and fosters gratitude much needed in stressful times. ❤️ your family!

This is the first time I have been able to understand. This is so awesome. I’m excited to see what happens with her speech. Thanks for sharing with us. Your hole family is so amazing.

I remember that feeling of being hungry and tired and nervous all in one... I hope everything went amazing and that she will get a toy or something she really wants as a reward afterwards (that was one of the things that helped me through pain and other things before, during and after operations as a child, and I had MANY.)

As a special education administrator for over 30 years, Aurora still will need major speech therapy to teach her how to say words correctly and retrain her brain.

Seriously, major??????? She is very young, she will be fine. My son was only slightly younger and he only needed 6 sessions. You really don't need to be so melodramatic. Every kid is different, she is as bright as a button, copies well and is already making sounds so much better

@@BridolMandy yes major. The tongue tie and other issues have nothing to do with apraxia. I had two speech therapists at the school I worked at watch some video and they agree. I have had 8 years of schooling for this. So I am not being dramatic. She should have been having therapy and learning sign a few times a week.

@@francessinobio4522 if you watch their videos, they WERE getting her sign & speech therapy often. There was nothing in their area, so they travelled. Hence 1 of the reasons they moved at this present time. It was in order to get Aurora better access & support networks, for both speaking & education, along with medical support. They have always spoken openly about the challenges little lady has too endure. They haven't "slept" on the issues. Crystal, as well as Aaron have been researching, contacting various organisations and so forth. Not forgetting all the appointments, and therapies attended before this little procedure.

I’m so glad she’s doing well. So amazing how well her speech is already. When you were both talking on the sofa I had such a big smile on my face watching Aurora playing around on the stairs. She’s like a ray of sunshine ☀️

So glad it went well! My youngest had a lip and tongue tie revised at 2 weeks old. We traveled out of state to see Dr. Kotlow in Albany, NY because he's the best of the best (and we aren't too far) and it was an immediate improvement with nursing. The massages were TERRIBLE. I hope that Aurora continues to do well with them. They're not comfortable. I can't wait to hear everything that's on her mind!

I think saying in front of Aurora how nervous you were didn’t help her be less nervous
