Its crazy how perfectly matched the last 3 kids were with your fam. The lil boys & Jake literally got built in best friends and Bella too with teenage girls who've also been thru many trials & tribulations, but most of all Bella got parentals who parent relieving her of responsibilities she shouldn't of had as a child. God works wonders 🙌🏾

It’s amazing to see Jake and Lucas are taking the initiative on how important their health is. Also I love to see them both enjoy cooking. One suggestion would be to use non salted butter. This way you can control the amount of salt that is used. Congrats to both of you. You two are absolutely amazing.

Jake & Lucas are awesome, it's takes a lot of discipline to control your nutrition. But it definetely worth it. Nutrition has a crucial impact on the quality of your life. How you move, think, feel, look... your lvl of energy. I also think this will have a huge impact on the younger boys.

It’s great that the boys are so into this at a you g age because it will stay with them throughout their lives. I think understanding the science behind nutrition helps solidify that knowledge. So awesome! Growing up my parents were big on the four food groups, but not in detail. And, it’s all different now! Lol When I was young, our fast food options were limited to McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s and it was a treat once in a while. We didn’t have vending machines at school either.

We talk about healthy eating (I have a 19, 16, 10, and 8 year old) but never calories as it can create issues. It's all about moderation, and always have fruit before cookies, etc, but also absolutely nothing wrong with eating 'junk' food. Also, if you never do junk food, I feel like they'll gorge on it when they have their own money. And if you cook with them, they feel accomplished and understand that veggies in food tastes lush.

So awesome that they value eating well. Bad habits are hard to break so starting good habits young will make eating well easier as they are older! In regards to the burgers not being healthy because of the fat. I'm 76... My mom always cooked from scratch and very balanced. My grandson was a very picky eater. Absolutely no vegetables. (According to his mom) when he was small I included him in EVERYTHING in the kitchen. He helped cutting veg with an appropriate knife. He asked if he could taste. I made him wait until it was all together. He was surprised that he liked it all. He was so happy when he learned how to flip eggs. He would never eat eggs... until he cooked them. He's now married and does most of the cooking. Just like my son's. They became the main cooks in their homes, much to the surprise of their wives. Get the kids in the kitchen, every chance you get.

With the chips, let them have a one serving bag on Saturday only. Another thing your family eats out a lot. Eat at home before you go to the mall or trampoline park or wherever. When you go to some place like where you went during the holidays to see the lights, again eat before you go. Bring healthy snacks with you if the kids get hungry. They do sell sugar free ketchup. Which would be better for everyone. Great job Jake and Lucas! ❤

Well I’ve been diagnosed with brain cancer couple years ago n it has spread to my stomach. My dr told me that by me eating hot Cheetos or just spicy foods n snacks will eventually eat ur stomach lining n leave u with bad acid reflux. Please don’t let little Aurora eat so much spicy chips because it will affect her in the years ahead. Blessings to all… Love n Aloha from one of ur biggest fans in Hawaii 🌈💜

That’s so awesome the boys are taking their health and nutrition so seriously for their ages. Knowing that food is just fuel for your body is really important as well as water. You should be drinking at least 64-100 ounces of water daily which will also cut down on the in between meal snacking because the water will help keep you full. Great job boys!!!

Fish and chips was a treat and school canteens sold real food not so much junk. I’m happy to see your family is cutting back on the processed treats that way when the kids do have them they’re actually a treat and not an expectation so well done to all of you.

It is so great that you are educating your children on health and nutrition, it is so important! but please don’t get too strict on it. Let your child have those treats like chips and candy. My parents got into nutrition when I was younger and they meant the best for me but I got obsessed with calories an “bad foods” that it let to an eating disorder. Remember all foods fit in an healthy diet. As long as you moderate the extent of it. Bless your family and have a wonderful day! Love Isabel

I appreciate that this can be a tricky topic to talk about, but I think it’s about positivity. Like the bun isn’t BAD and if there was cheese, it isn’t BAD. Bad eating habits can follow you into life but so can negative thoughts surrounding food. Someone with an eating disorder can hear those words differently than intended and it’s not obvious who may be struggling

Being aware of nutrition is important--knowing how the body works, what nutrients the body needs in order to function properly, what nutrients do for the body, etc. But I agree with the other comments to not label foods as good or bad. Even chips hold nutritional value. Food is neutral. Don't aim for body positivity, but body neutrality--"I have a body and it can do (fill in the blank)"

High school is 12-18 year old grades 6-12. The high school kids just walk up to the tuckshop and grab food and pay at the end of the line.

Just putting this out there, I love Flaming Hot Cheetos, never been a Takis fan, but a few years ago I started eating low carb. I found these chips called "Hilo" chips, they have a big mouth on the package eating a chip. They have many different flavors, but my favorite is the spicy puffs, a lot like Flamin Hot Cheeto puffs. They are low carb and come in portion size bags, pretty good on calories too. If your kids still want the chips but you want them to be more on the healthy side these are a really good option.

Love you guys! Side note: I definitely would not label foods “good or bad” “healthy or unhealthy” all foods are fine in moderation so long as you’re burning calories more than you’re eating them. Having these labels around found can cause a bad relationship with eating and can cause guilt/shame. Especially if any of the kids already struggle with disordered eating!

I get really sceptical when young teens are eating a diet. It is good to be healthy but not dieting, in my upinion. It is a short way between healthy and eating disorder. And a person with eating disorder doesn't need to have a classic anorexia or bulimia. There are so much more knowledge about that today. And a person can be both thin, thick or have a "normal wight" and suffering from a eating disorder. Personally I got my eating disorder when I was 8 or 9 years old. And it came because it was so much talk about healthy food in my family and what we shouldn't eat. It became an obsession to me. Now, 30 years later, I have been all over the scale with my eating disorder. I have been eating to little, to much, to unhealthy and to healthy. And it was actually now this last September my new doctor got me some help for the first time. And I am really grateful to my doctor for doing that. It will take a long time to get well after 30 years, but I will make it. So please look after your kids so they don't get food disorders. And a tips is to not talk so much about food in front of the camera too. A lot of people get triggered by that. Don't ment as a complaining about you or your fun and great channel. Just a little well ment heads up! Love your channel and your family!!!❤️

My husband is 24 and has a family history of heart and cholesterol problems. We got his blood work done and talk to a doctor just as a early life check up type deal. Come to find out he already has very High cholesterol and is pre-diabetic. We haven't changed as much as we could, but we did change alot and looking back, it has gotten so much easier to change what we eat, how much and to just be aware. The doctor was willing to not put him on medication because he is young and wants him to learn first and see what parameters he can stay within doing it on his own. I appreciated that alot from a doctor not pushing pills. Well here we are a year later, he has lost 25 pounds by just changing diet. Not drastically but enough and not even adding any exercise. This year's goal is to get moving a little more since we have a pretty good handle on the food part now.

We never stocked unhealthy snacks. 3 meals a day real stuff not boxed stuff. Snacks are fruit or vegetables. My sons favorite snack is cucumber. You don't snack it, they can't get it. Where they found the unhealthy crap was always at school. Even though they are adults now, they still don't eat snacks.

I agree with how Crystal was saying how the kids would say there’s no food my mom and dad would say there’s food you just have to make it and we didn’t know how to cook certain foods
