I'd like to see a video under the hood - the electronics board, under the hot end shroud. Does it seem like you might be able to install regular Klipper stuff? Is there a separate Klipper board and a main board or did they put it all on one PCB? Is the the same board as the K1? Pop it open and let's take a look!

Great video! I just got one about a week ago and I love it. I sent back an Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro because it just wouldn't print reliably...sometimes great...sometimes a train wreck. I have a question, do you use Creality Cloud Print? I do and it works great remotely and I have the camera too...but I want it to do an auto-level before beginning the print like it does on local prints from the USB drive. Any info on that? Thanks.

That's relative. I was gifted the SE and in 4 weeks of owning it I had to manually adjust it a handful of times, because it was getting off constantly. God knows why. I set my S1 Pro , for example, and don't have to touch it for months.

Great video. I'm holding off on buying one as I don't have the need to upgrade at this time. Some of my questions that I have are. As this is so new there is little information out there. :) (I hope any and all will comment on their experiences and knowledge. Thanks.) 1. So how fast did you print those items out at? 50mm, 300mm, 500mm or an unknown Creality quality settting that takes into account quality vs speed? 2. From your video the display showed "local" files. Is there storage in the unit itself? The following questions deal with repairs and replacements. 3. Are the nozzles generic or proprietary? It sounded as if they were special. And if so, how much are they for different quality? I know that the "K1" nozzles are not cheap. 4. Same with the hotend. Is this Creality's sprite? I 5. I've read a number of issues with the cables being a bit too short and people having issues with the cables to the hotend causing issues with thermal sensors and fans. Any thoughts? Misc. 5. I watched the homing function and started to laugh. For a "fast" printer it sure is just as slow as the older models. Any idea why? Addendum: I would love to see the extras demo'd. How does the "AI" work to determine a print failure? Does the vibration limiters do much good. Thanks.

Can I ask a ? I just got this and used the hyper pla that came with it. I used all of it and all my prints came out good. Changed it from the creality pla I got off Amazon and it seemed to have trouble a lot of stringing and than it looked as if it wasn’t coming out. Mid way through my print “it was ruined already” I put the left over hyper in there and it started to come out the nozzle again any suggestions?

I doubt they actually have you locked out of anything. I'm still running Marlin on a very old Anet A8 and it too uses open source software. I did have to configure Marlin the way I wanted on my computer and then flash it as a firmware update to my printer but it truely is open source. The only difference I see is Klipper runs on a Raspberry Pi rather than an Arduino for the motherboard. What's preventing you from rebuilding a version of Klipper that suits your needs and reflashing it to your motherboard? I see that Marlin has been ported over to run on the 32 bit processors now which still program the same as the original Arduino's. Given how cheap these 32 bit micro controllers are I could easily replace my entire motherboard with a new and faster version to keep my old printer dancing to the current trends. Are your Raspberry Pi based motherboards any different?

Like I mentioned in the video, I'm sure there's a way to SSH into it. But that's not something that the average person who's buying a 3D printer wants to do or knows how to do. With the newer clipper printers, all you need to do is click on the settings tab. Make your adjustments, click save and restart and you're good to go. If you make a mistake when you clicked, save and restart, it saved a backup that you can always return to. But none of that is available here. However, this was also the case with the Creality k1 and K1 Max. And after much pushing from users, they have released and upgrade to unlock it and give you full clipper access. So let's hope they do the same with this.

I doubt that 100%. It's probably no different than you would on any other Klipper system. Adding these silly macros is just silly. When I can simply type in a GCode and settting, then another to save the settings, why would I want to type in these macros and hopefully spell everything correctly?

Klipper is GPL v3 and hence Creality locking it down is against the law. Of course, the law is only as effective as those enforcing it and enforcing it would cost money for lawyers and hence open source advocates typically can't do that much. But everyone should complain to their reseller that you do not want to be complicit to Creality breaking the law (in principle you using the product containing this illegal cooy of Klipper could also be considered illegal).

@dmitche3 6 ай бұрын
Hmm, what is and isn't against the law. Yes, they have to make the code available. Whether the law actually states that you can then use it on their machine is another thing. As far as locking out it down I have to agree with Creality at this time. They are releasing a new unit and there will be a ton of people with problems. How do you expect a company to provide support if every one is modding the software and failing to tell them about it? Give them time to work out some of the bugs and if after say six months to a year they haven't opened up the unit to be flashed with other software then complain.

@@dmitche3 The GPL V3 license of Klipper clearly defines what is and what is not allowed. Any product using Klipper has to offer the user a way to install his own variation of GPL V3 software. Nothing debatable on that.

@learnelectronics
@learnelectronics 7 ай бұрын
I have to disagree with you on the blobs. Because the only material they blobbed on was the PETG. Everything else worked just fine. Now. Ask for speed. They are comparable. It all depends on your settings and what you want to get out of it. I run the elligoo at 300 mm per second for just about everything except ABS and ASA. The reality I've been running at 300 mm on everything except for the first layer which I really slowed down to about 80 mm per second. But other than that, the only goo has more bells and whistles with the dual zone, heated bed, and overhead light, and a tool headlight. But it lacks Wi-Fi. Kind of got to take the best of both worlds here and put them together and see what you get.
