I bought another car. I might have to keep this one. Lots of little fussy problems, though...just like the rest of them. Let's get them knocked out!

What a fantastic find! We had a 455-4 in a 73 Electra 225. Same color, blue with white top, blue interior. More upscale, but much the same. Sounds better with the new muffler. So glad this one is in your capable hands!

I would work with me dad (helper) whenever he worked on our cars years ago. I learned to always look out for the elusive vacuum leak when ruling out reasons why the engine has a slight stumble. I remember one engine had a small occasional stumble that had us stumped. Rebuilt the carb, no that wasn't it. Ended up changing the intake manifold gasket - yes , that was it - there is were a small vacuum leak. After new intake manifold gasket and proper torque - Engine ran smooth as glass. One thing I learned to remember is that things loosen up over time (re-torque bolts), may have better gaskets today, sealants are definitely better. So, may seem like a lot work, but any old engine I run into, I redo intake manifold gasket, new vacuum hose, rebuild carb, new plugs, wire, rotor, points. Get that all done first, then set dwell timing and fiddle with idle screws (if necessary). Some things have to be ruled out first in some sort of order. Refresh ignition always and everything, not just wire or plugs or this or that - do it all. Some guys just fiddle around here and there and there needs to be a plan and approach. Nice car!

Hi from Sydney, Australia. Great to see this original car, some don't like these late giant GM cars, but I love them on the cusp of the old and the new, I like their drivers cockpit styled dash as well, & their smooth fuselage body sides.

This 1971 Buick to me was the best styling of the big Buicks at that time. My parents had a 1967 LaSabre and a 1969 Buick Wildcat. Although I loved both cars I love this styling better. In 71 and 72 my parents took a bresk from new cars and in 1973 bought a 1973 Pontiac Luxury LeMans for my brother who was graguating from High School and going on to college. The next new car my parents purchased was a 1975 Toyota Corolla, my mom wanted to try out a smaller car. So, the next Buick they bought was a 1978 Buick Regal. Baby blue at that with a darker blue vinyl top. I thought that was the most luxuriant car i had ever seen. The styling was A1 awesome. The styling of autos back then was so much more fun and exiting than now being these new cars are so boring except for the Mustang and Camaro. Maybe a couple of others. But the last Buick my Dad bought my Mom was in 1988. He bought her a brand new 1988 Buick Regal. Sadly my Mom died in 1989. Never got to drive the new regal. She was to sick. My father loved my mother so much he wanted to buy her that regal thinking that would make her feel better, he did whatever he could to give my Mom something to look forward to when she was cured or ehen she felt better. Unfortunately she didnt get better and passed away in Feburary of 1989. I dont mean to make everyone dad but I thought I would share that story since it was pertaining to Buicks. Have a beautiful day everyone. God Bless!

I had a '72 as my first car in 1985!! Everyone thought it was a 350 because it wasn't a Centurion or Electra!!

Kinda odd optioned? AC, no tilt no power windows and a power seat, AM radio. Beautiful color combo. I assume the 455 is a option upgrade too?

Cascade Blue is right, My parent's friends had a 71 Electra Limited in the same color combo, my parents had the 71 Olds 98 LS in the same color and combo. they always bought The Buick we had the Oldsmobile. we had a green 77 98 Regency, they had a green 77 Buick Electra Limited, we had a gold 66 Vista Cruiser, they had the 66 Buick sportwagon.. It was a joke among their friends by the 1980's My parents and the other couple turned 50, and here in The South, if you were a GM person when you turned 50 you bought a Cadillac, which they did. but my parent's enjoyed their Oldsmobiles so they bought the bestlooking GM sedan of the 80's the 84 Olds 98 Brougham. it was nicer than their friend's SDV. anyhow that was the last Olds they owned, and after GM dropped Olds, no one in my extended family owns a GM product.
