Create 3D objects (.OBJ) using Illustrator & Photoshop for Adobe Dimension product mock-ups (New!)

This video is for designers who are unfamiliar with 3D software and looking for a tool to create 3D nutritional supplement containers and mockup scenes. Adobe Dimension is a simpler interface to use and consistent with its series of Illustrator and Photoshop programs versus having to learn a new 3D interface and shortcuts.

Love it! Basically, this was an updated version of an old bottle you have right? When I saw your tip "Remove texture" in Photoshop I was hoping that was fixing duplicate graphic in Dimension (old issue) but then you nail it with "Generate UV". Awesome keep it up!

Hi there, thanks for the video, it's great! Whenever I apply the same method to create a glass bottle, it show the seam through the transparent glass. When I say the seam, I mean the original pen drawing of half the bottle shows inside the bottle. Can you help please? Thanks.

I have the same problem. It's especially annoying on the fill cause it looks like there are two half inside. Can you help? But otherwise great video! Just subscribed because of it.

I'm having the same issue. I've set the extrusion depth to a few different settings and I still get the seam. It's especially noticeable with light colored liquids like white wine. Does anyone have a fix to get rid of the seam?

Hi! There may be a model in the Adobe Dimension model library you could borrow. If not, I will consider it, thanks! I'm starting to learn Blender too since there are limitation in Photoshop, especially when it comes to asymmetry

Hello! Thank you. Unfortunately, a hoodie would be too complex for my skill level and this workflow. I've switched to using Blender software now and Adobe has removed the 3D capabilities in the newest Photoshop version 😕

Hello, are your points of the 2D object/live path aligned exactly? If not, this could create a hole.

Make sure you are in RGB color mode Image > Mode > RGB Color

Se você clicar nos números / dimensões do tamanho da tela (canto superior esquerdo da área do objeto de trabalho), no painel direito você verá Propriedades e poderá ajustar as unidades de cena.

I tried to save the original profile of the bottle in the Libraries, so I can edit it when I have the final render... but when I "call it " from Photoshop, it doesn't show me all the faces. Any idea? It would be cool to have two windows (Illustrator and Dimension) and pixel peeping the original path and see (live) the results in Dimension. Thanks!

@@ashleycam3ron Thanks indeed: your (aditional and generous) help can be extremely useful for a client of mine. I'm working an olive oil bottle, and a I need to be exactly as the original, for I will need it for a lot of close up renders so the detail can catch the eye (I don't have the blueprint, so I will do it comparing with my eyes and fear, haha). It's a very important job for me to be done: thanks a lot again! PS: Great Channel (some friends of mine love permacultura -not me: I'm more of a Creative Suite enthusiast kind of guy-).

@@vesprecid6229 I was wondering... so you are saving the vector shape in the library before making it 3D? I'm seeing some limitations as you've probably noticed with the libraries. Looks like I'm unable to save the 3D obj from photoshop to use directly in Dimension. Kind of hard to explain in detail with text but are you editing the path source which then updates the Photoshop object? Thanks on the other comment :) I enjoy problem-solving of all sorts.

@@ashleycam3ron When I paste the path in PS, it doesn't alow me to make it an smart object: only as shape object. I was extremely happy thinking it would work, but when 3d-editing the object, some weird stuff happens, like the extrusion/revolving finds math error on the data.

It’s really hard to follow along with dead silence in the videos and or the minor changes without any commentary or dialogue. Chop unneeded seconds off the videos. I truly mean this in the nicest way possible but can’t subscribe I am skipping along your videos just to hear the commands or clickable spots I need. Give you points you have a KZfaq channel I don’t. So please don’t hate me just difficult to follow the videos. I do t mean to hate. Just can’t wait with empty audio space and nothing to hear
