Very interesting because I made almost the same thing entirely in 3D software. I had the map, the plane and some pointers already modeled so the animation took me a few minutes. Of course if you are not familiar with 3D animation, DaVinci Resolve is an excellent choice. Thanks for the tutorial, as always, very useful 👍👍👍

Thanks, you're right, DaVinci Resolve is a very powerful tool, the potential is limitless, even with the free version🙂

Great tutorial as always, but I have a questtion. Do you have a tutorial on how to highlight and magnify areas? As you did at 4:24 to show us what settings you change.

hi, thank you for tutorial. Q: Is possible to animate Camera3D Target pint connectet to Polyline path? For example- i want to change the end of path from Chicago to Orlando with automatizate Camera3D path also
@EssentialVideoEditing Жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by connecting to polyline path, but both target point and camera3D are animated in this tutorial, you can always change their path if required.

Thank you very much for all your tutos series. Very instructive. @Essential Video Editing are you open to next tutorials suggestions ? I would like to use Davinci Resolve for editing tutorials videos and it would be nice to be able to add some key shortcuts on the screen when needed. For example, if I have to tell user they need to press CTRL + C, it would be nice not only writing it but using some kind of boxed key stroke like real keys on keyboard. Do you think it is possible ? Not by an image but with an asset that just need text edit.
@EssentialVideoEditing2 жыл бұрын
I use a keyboard font to show the shortcut in my video, like in this video around 7:30, which is bascially a text title.

depth of field would be great to see in this animation. Sadly, in davinci resolve we can only choose between shadow and depth of field in 3d fusion. Did you found solution to combine that two effects and use them both? This would be amazing animation
@EssentialVideoEditing2 ай бұрын
You can enable the Z channel for rederer3D node, add a depthblur node, and keyframe the Focal Point parameter to achieve the depth of field animation. There is an example of using depthblur node in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iqydaradza2dhIk.html

I got lost on step one: getting the map, lol. How do you get that map? I went to google maps and see annoying button links on the top, the layers button on the bottom-left, the zoom button on the bottom-right, etc. And I can't save the map. When I right-click, the menu that comes up does not include saving the image.
@EssentialVideoEditing2 жыл бұрын
I simply take a screenshot of google map, you can turn off all labels in the google map, hover your mouse over the little layers box at the bottom left, util you see additional options, then click the more button, uncheck the labels option.

Great great tutorial. Thank you, beautiful Travel map, but i have a question: When i make a Curve line between two City's i am missing somethings. The color of the Curve to changing! What can i do?
@EssentialVideoEditing2 жыл бұрын
You can change the color at anytime, if a line is already drawn with a color you don't like, you can always go to the Modifiers tab in Inspector, find the stroke in question, and you can change the color there.

how can I bend the image horizontally? when i hit y axis it does not do what i want and z axis doesnt even do anything...

Are you referring the Bender3D node? You may need to adjust the angle as well to achieve what you want.

At the end of the video, the map indicator rotates. The video has no explanation. Please tell me how.

It's done by keyframing the rotation Y parameter of the text 3D node.

It seems difficult at beginning, but once get the basic concept, it's similar to any other video editors. It's very powerful, and it's free.
